Why should crystalline creatures have all the fun of being destroyed with Shatter? Here's an anti-liquid spell:

Roil
Evocation [Sonic]
Level: Brd 2, Clr 2, Sor/Wiz 2
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Area or Target: 50-ft.-radius spread or one creature
Duration: Concentration (maximum 2 rounds/level)
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (creature)
Spell Resistance: Yes

You utter a shriek at a frequency that causes liquids to vibrate. The scream must continue uninterrupted for the duration of the spell, preventing all other speech.

If used as a spread it can cause turbulence on the surface of a body of liquid, making it as difficult to swim in as stormy water.

If used on a creature it forces them to make a fortitude check each time they attempt to swallow any liquid. If they fail the liquid is moving too much within its container and they are unable to drink it. They may try to drink it again later.

If used on a liquid creature such as a water elemental the creature must make fortitude save each round it is affected to avoid taking 1d6 damage and being dazed.

Material Component
A drop of water

I like.
Clarify the action, but not the potion of a drinker is wasted if they fail the fortitude save.

Geez. At 20th level, that would end up being four minutes of constant screaming. :smallamused:

Is this also a spell-like ability given to any human younger than 1 year? (cast at 20th level for duration 2nd for damage.)

Cuz its totally should be.
