When I mean rage modifiers, I mean things like Reckless Rage, Mountain Rage, etc.

Now, those assume you're using standard Barbarian Rage but what occurs if you use Whirling Frenzy (UA) (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/classFeatureVariants.htm#rageVariantWhirlingFrenzy ), Ferocity (Cityscape Web Enhancement) (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20070228a) or the oh so horrid Berserker Strength (PHB2) (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060501a&page=3)? Mountain Rage would seem to modify it just fine, as they all grant Strength bonuses, so it all matches up.

Reckless Rage gets a bit weird, as what penalty gets changed in the alternatives? Ferocity would imply the ranged attack penalty would increase to -4 and I have no idea what would change for Whirling Frenzy, since it has no implied penalty to modify. Berserker Strength would simply get Strength bonus and AC penalty, though no Con boost, unfortunately.

So, thoughts? Should they stack at all or is Mountain Rage yet another rage variant and thus not able to stack with the other 4?

I'd say they do what's written: Reckless Rage + Ferocity = +6 Str, +4 Dex, +2 Con, -2 AC, -2 Ranged Attacks. Reckless Rage + Whirling Frenzy = +6 Str, +2 Con, +2-2 AC.

Mountain Rage is a different replacement, I think, and can't thus be used with Whirling Frenzy or Ferocity (can't replace the same thing twice, after all). Reckless Rage again has the normal impact.
