Ok I am playing in a Pathfinder game at the moment. I need a back-up character in case my crusader bites it. I wanted to play the opposite of my brave crusader. So I was thinking of playing a cowardly whisper gnome rogue/wizard or rogue/warlock. He'll be 3rd level. I just needed some help on some feats (already going with craven). Any Ideas?

Feats that help you hide, such as Stealthy, should help. Also, he should be able to talk his way out of things, so look in to Bluff and Diplomacy.

How about Craven? (Champions of Ruin) Increases your SA but gives you a penalty to saves against fear..

This was already covered.

Factotum/Something with HiPs and Iaijutsu armed with a Gnome Quickrazor.

-Stalker of Kharaash (BoED) or Lurking Terror both can HiPs whenever they have any amount of concealment. Of the two Lurking Terror has fewer pre-reqs but requires you be undead. Necropolitan? I usually combo this with Shape Soulmeld: Fellmist Robe.

-Exemplar or Dungeon Delver if you can spare the feats both get you Skill Mastery very fast for take ten on Iaijutsu checks.

-If you can convince your dm to let you take 4 levels of Iaijutsu Master for the extra damage.

-Continuing the Iaijutsu line of thought if your DM allows Dragon a dip in Battledancer nets you Charisma Modifier to Attack Bonus.

Fixed that for you.

(Whisper Gnomes do not need to waste a feat on Stealthy to be excellent at stealth.)

Adept of Darkness (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57352). Hide in Plain Site, and all it requires is 1 feat and 1 Warlock level (though you'll probably want 3 for the ability to Take 10 on UMD).

If you really want to be good at hiding, look at the Dark template from ToM. +1 LA for HiPS, skill bonuses, and +10 speed. One of the few LAs that's worth it.

Well, maybe. The Dark Template Hide in Plain Sight is the weakest of all the many abilities which share that name, as (like most all the Extraordinary HIPSs) it doesn't remove the cover/concealment requirement to use the Hide skill; but it does impose additional restrictions.

I suggest instead going for the Wilderness Rogue (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#rogueVariantWilderness Rogue) variant, which adds Camouflage and HiPS (like the Ranger/Scout abilities, in natural terrain only) to the Rogue special abilities list. Natural terrain is a lot easier to come by than on-demand concealment that won't end up hurting you more than it helps. ("Oy! Wot's that Darkness doing here all of a sudden? Let's use area attacks to kill the sneaky buggers!")
