Tis the season, right?
Wrong. It's always the season for Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
So, any other fans out there? What are your favourite songs and the like? Ever been to a show?

Went to a show in Dallas last year, going again this year. Very awesome, and very loud (but not Metal loud). They do a nice stage show, too.

I like "Wizards in Winter" and their take on the Nutcracker Suite.

Love em. Need to listen to them more and get the music of theirs which I have off my old computer.

I really really love Beethoven's Last Night.

I'll be going this weekend to see the one in STL. First one.

Quick question, what's proper attire to wear for their performances?

Edit: I am and always will be a fan of Carol of the Bells.

A friend of mine is going to see them, and I'm quite jealous.

Post 3000 get!

I meant to go to one of their shows a couple years ago, but funds were tight and I couldn't score tickets for me and my girlfriend.

I think they rock pretty hard, ya.

I've been to their shows twice, and am pretty disappointed they're skipping Knoxville this year.

Can't say I have a favorite song, but I'm really liking the Night Castle album.

Exarch: I always went in casual, as did most of the people there.

I love them. Beethoven's Last Night is running all year around, and their Christmas albums are pretty much my most-listened music in November and December.

Sadly, they are never, never, ever going to tour outside of North America, so it seems. All that we get is the occasional Savatage offshoots like Jon Oliva, Jon Oliva's Pain and such, among which Circle II Circle is the only one Ilike :smallfrown:

A Savatage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vXtVvjYrH0) shirt?

I remember listening to a lot of "Beethoven's Last Night" last winter. I'm feeling the need to do so again.

I like their cover of Sweet Home Alabama. Especially since they have the Leningrad or Stalingrad (don't remember which) in the background.

I also love the version of Carol of the Bells that they did with Metallica.

My mom and I go see them every year
They seem to find ways to be crazier every time. Like adding fire, then moving platforms with lights, then moving giant-screen TV's...then putting it all together.

I love Carol of the Bells. Still gotta be my favorite.

Are you sure they're skipping Knoxville? I heard an add on the radio for tickets like a week ago...

Per the band's site, (http://www.trans-siberian.com/tour1/index.php) it looks like their closest date to Knoxville is either Louisville or Nashville.

TSO is coming to Chicago on the 26th.

I love their take on Carmina Burana

Well, for starters they're a lot better than the trans-siberian railway, which is just boring as hell (though some of the places it stops in are quite cool), I wish that I could go see them sometimes, but it's a long way to North America from here.

Last year's company Christmas party had a website for the DJs that they hired and you could vote on what songs you wanted to hear. Me, I assumed that songs with higher votes were more guaranteed to make it into the rotation, so I voted for TSO's "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo (12/24)", then cleared cookies, then voted again. Repeat a few dozen more times.

No, the votes where how many times the song was to appear in the shuffle. Oops. I know the DJs had to be going, "Man, this company really loves this song!"

I would have to say my favorite of their works is "Wizards in Winter".

Decoy just became my favorite forum member. Ever. THANK YOU for recognizing the SAVATAGE roots. (By and far, Savatage, though now defunct - is my favorite band - I assume, Decoy you know of JON OLIVA'S PAIN as well as CIRCLE II CIRCLE, MACHINES OF GRACE, CHRIS CAFFERY's solo stuff - as well as like AVATAR and DOCTOR BUTCHER?) Oh, how I can rattle on about the awesomeness of Savatage! But since this is a TSO thread! I will refrain - and instead post two links...

I also have video - one in particular where Angus Clark catches me messing up on a song as he was on the side playing. Epic. Have not uploaded any of the video yet. But will soon.

I love them... Especially Beethoven's Last Night, but every CD is a masterpiece.

Too bad I'll never get to see them live :smallfrown:

Got several of their songs on my playlist.
