It means you did something against the rules (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/announcement.php?a=1). It expires when it says so in your profile, which, while hard to find, is somewhere (I forgot where exactly, and how to get there). If you thought it was unfair...well, ask Roland St. Jude. He'll probably talk to you, tell you why you got the infraction, and such.
