Are there any articles or other info on this deity outside of the DMG? I was toying with the idea of utilizing a Torog-worshipper as a villain in one of my adventures; there were already going to be lots of rats, centipedes and creepy-crawlies in it, so I thought "why not?" But there's not a lot of info on him, aside from a few details:

1) Resides in the Underdark of the world and is worshipped by troglydytes (at least those who do not worship Demogorgon)
2) Creatures like rats and centipedes are sacred to him
3) The patron deity of jailors and torturers, and is noted for his role in imprisoning the Chained God
4) Hears his name when uttered, which can be a Very Bad Thing if he appears

Note: I don't have a DDI subscription at the moment and I don't own every 4E book, so apologies if I've missed something that was done recently.

If I remember correctly, Draconomicon 1 says that Purple Dragons often venerate Torog (but I'd have to double check that to be certain).

His domains are Earth and Torment, granting access to the Divine Power feats Power of Torment, Perfect Torment, Power of Earth, and Earth Hold. That's all the extra information I'm aware of that WotC has published for Torog in 4e.

Well, there's apparently going to be quite a bit about him in Underdark (http://wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx?x=dnd/products/dndacc/251210000) (due in mid-January), for obvious reasons. The latest In The Works preview (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4pr/20091207) has an interesting bit or two from that, and it's not DDI-exclusive or anything.

There's a quote in Divine Power which I very much like, from the Earth domain write-up:

Torog has acquired power over earth during his imprisonment in the Underdark. First he drew the power of earth into the Underdark to provide islands of permanence in that ever-changing realm. Now he continues to scrape at the world above, clawing earth down into the unfinished creation of the Underdark where it can be used as a durable prison, a weapon of confinement.

Even the article describes him as a god of declining power. I really doubt he rates more than exarch of Torog at this point.

Most of 4e's lesser deities are noted to be exarchs of greater deities anyway...
