Start reading webcomics. If you already do, take your favorite one and read it from the beginning. I can easily sink 8 hours into reading dominic deegan from start to current.

TV Tropes is definitely a cure for boredom. I find myself adding to the pages of shows I watch, especially if they haven't been added to in a long while.

There's always books. Pratchett is a good author, especially compared to the one who ruined vampires.

There's also reviews of sucky comics and reviews of shows from the 80's and 90's on the net.

TVTropes is good, random flash games can be good, reading or more legitimate games are better, cause they leave you feeling less like you've been wasting time. The best option is, if you're up to it (usually my boredom is due to a lack of desire to do most of these things) is to come up with or work on some project.

TV Tropes, Wikipedia, Flash Games, Diablo 2, Borderlands, Webcomics...

I'm a tad bored too, that's why I'm looking around the forums :smalltongue:

Want a cure for boredom?

Depends on your patience, but if you're the type of person who can go at something for quite a while, the difficult games like I Wanna Be The Guy or Nethack could occupy a lot of time.

Chronic boredom, or a one-off thing?

If it's the former, dedicate yourself to destroying the life of another human being.

If it's the latter, just punch someone famous in the face.

Now, who to punch, Stephanie Meyer, or the Super Devil...

Much as I support this idea, Stephanie Meyer's ego is badly in need of deflation. Getting punched in the face by random strangers wouldn't do the trick, but it'd be a blow in the right direction--that is, towards Meyer' jaw.

Hear that, evil-frosty? Punching Meyer'd be a public service.

i didn't realize the abridged series was a parody because i'm not all that familiar with anime and hadn't seen an actual episode of yu-gi-oh. so after the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, elfen lied, and paranoia agent, a snarkfest like the abridged series seemed plausible, so when i finally got a chance to watch yu-gi-oh one morning, i was severely disappointed.

One does not read 4Chan. One is infected by it and one's brain is reduced to a pile of mulch.

@OP: You could always wash down some pro-plus with Red Bull. You'll still be bored but your resting heart rate will be that of a serial killer running a marathon. Take a Polygraph test and watch their eyes go wide as the needle goes berserk.

Yes, this is a fantastic way to cure boredom. It's one of the best ways to achieve a "bad trip". Extreme thirst and nausea are two other symptoms if I remember it correctly... I know someone who took 40g. They had a diurnal experience, not a tridiurnal. (24 hours)

You're totally right man, I'd never do it again. There was no nausea, but even if it hadn't been dry-mouthed paranoid city, waking up more tripped than when you went to bed is a really, really unpleasant experience. He's lucky it only lasted the one day.

Patience is my cure for boredom. It was honed through years of having to sit still for hours of religious ceremonies every week. Also, getting a lot of music is also useful, it makes everything, including sitting around being bored, better.

Those three are the main funny ones. A few others are good, but most of the other abridged series are mainly crappy.

I audit them every so often. It takes a while with it just being me going thru the lists.

Most of these should be good

Simple lists made in Notepad help calm my boredom. Most of the time this has something to do with DnD but other times it is also a list for my NationState.

I play with Legos. I've got a whole tub full of them downstairs that I just pull out when I'm bored. (I'm almost 20, so it's not just a kid thing.)

I also make lists. Lists of characters, organize those characters into groups, etc... sometimes I'll prep for the next D&D session if I'm REALLY bored. Or I'll just make a new character entirely.

Lists.

Simple lists made in Notepad help calm my boredom. Most of the time this has something to do with DnD but other times it is also a list for my NationState.

I used to play Facts In Five - basically a timed listmaking game, in which you draw five random letters and five random categories, and then fill in a grid of things that started with the letter and fit the category.

I started a game of Facts In 26 ... setting up a 26x26 grid of all the letters, plus 1 category (starting, for greater challenge) each with a different letter.

But I got bored with setting it up :smallwink:

Ohh, I forgot a word game I used to do in my more boring classes... Get a piece of paper and write down a sound or theme at the top of it, like "ore". Try to fill the page with as many words as you can that rhyme or end with "ore." When I ran out of ideas for sounds, I would do the theme thing... A good one is "colours" because you can fill pages with just different shades and tones and words relating to colour.

There's always books. Pratchett is a good author, especially compared to the one who ruined vampires.

There's also reviews of sucky comics and reviews of shows from the 80's and 90's on the net.

I read a book by that guy! It was the first disworld novel. Then i realized he wrote like 50 more and i was like "**** this. I dont have that sort of free time."

But that one book i read (oh, and i rea dGood Omens, which is 1/2 him) was good.
