So here we have Elan leaning back, but his cape, defying gravity to the amazement of all onlookers, manages to remain absolutely parallel to his body.

Any thoughts on the potential magical properties of Elan's Anti-Gravity Cape?

It's a vest or jacket, not a cape.

Yeah, this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0595.html) shows a high resistance to his vestment "billowing," and it doesn't even go anywhere while windwalking, so I would guess vest as well.

I can't even see how that looks anything like a cape.

Neither could I. Take off your glasses and squint a bit, that usually helps.

If you turn your head and squint, it looks like a bunny.

...wait, that's something else.

The Elanosaurus Rex definitely has a billowing cape.

The Elanosaurus Rex definitely has a billowing cape.
Presumably, he drew that before his post-jailbreak redesign.

The Elanosaurus Rex definitely has a billowing cape.

That's because Elan drew it. In his world, the wind always blows when it's most dramatic. The appearance of a Dinosaur Bard definitely merits it.

You can't have a character portrait without dramatic wind, silly.

Edit: ninja'd

It looks like a duck? Why don't they call it Duck Island?

Here's a case of the vest doing the opposite. Final page of the multipart update.

That's because he's effectively falling straight down in that panel and the vest is being blown up. Even there it's not going above his head, as it would if it were a cape.

Real world example: the jacket of a suit will tend not to fall backwards if you happen to be leaning backwards, but it WILL flutter around in the wind to some extent.

The Elanosaurus Rex definitely has a billowing cape.

Because Elan ether A. Drew it when he was wearing a cape, or B. Forgot he got a new outfit again (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0455.html)

We've also seen him take it off before. Check out panel #20 of this comic (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0468.html). It's definitely a vest.
