Does anybody know of a Baldur's Gate mod to be able to play all classes without race restrictions?

Not really.

Should be fairly easy to unlock all classes for each race, though, unless those things are hard-coded for some inexplicable reason. (Monks might be problematic due to animations, but I guess the game would be smart enough to just use the default ones.)
Changing multi- and dual-classing rules might well be impossible, though.

However, I wonder...why don't you just use Shadowkeeper?

It is hard-coded. If it were possible to remove the racial class restrictions, it would be part of Oversight.

You're stuck with using Shadowkeeper for individual characters, I'm afraid.

Thank you, but what is this "Shadowkeeper"? You see, I do not do a lot of internet research on Baldur's Gate stuff, I have my codes and my guides, and that keeps me pretty well informed on what I need to know, so...

Savegame editor. Can be downloaded here (http://www.mud-master.com/), as well as editors for BG1 and Icewind Dale.

(There's also a similar editor for IWD2, but apparently it's not on this site. :smallconfused:)

Sorcerer's Place (http://www.sorcerers.net/) ought to have it.

Doesn't Icewind Gate make BG2 run on IwD2 engine, therefore enabling to choose whatever combination of class/race?
I don't know, i didn't play. So just guessing.

IIRC, Icewind Gate makes BG2 run on 3rd edition rules like Icewind Dale 2 anyway.

I appreciate the links, but could someone please elaborate on what "Shadowkeeper" is?

Put simply, as someone said above, it's a saved game editor. You open up ShadowKeeper (it's a separate program you run in Windows) and you simply use it to open a saved game file - this then displays all your characters, their stats, avatars, spells, inventory etc etc etc from that save, and allows you to edit them at your whim. You can even edit your characters model used in-game and 'rag doll' appearance in the inventory window (eg. playing a half-orc but hate the model the game uses? - just change it to the Sarevok model instead, even better if you can download and use the Sarevok sound file :smallwink:).

I had a lot of fun with it once when I set my character to use the dragon model in-game to wander through Athkatla .

EDIT: Here's a pic of what the program looks like:

Wow, that sounds really cool, and thank you for elaborating on it. Would you be able to use BG1 "rag dolls" for BG2?

No.

However, there's the 1pp line of mods (http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/1pp) which does that and more.

Note that this only uses BG1 rag dolls, not actual in-game sprite animations. There's a project (http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=40964) for the latter currently under way, though.

That sounds promising. Thank you.
