Wow. I think the only thing more stereotypical would have been a halfling rogue. lol

mickeysofine
2009-12-14, 01:23 AM
or a gnome who specializes in illusion :smalltongue:

Saintjebus
2009-12-14, 10:09 AM
What!? Who would do such a thing. I mean, I can see dwarf cleric or fighter, but why would anyone make a gnome illusionist?! That's crazy talk.

Splodgey
2009-12-14, 01:43 PM
I did think halfling, then thought, nah free feat for rogues :smallcool:

Sillycomic
2009-12-14, 03:32 PM
Yes, rogues do need more feats. The more the merrier.

I kinda wanna see our fighter in action. Never saw anyone proficient in a net fight before.

How cool.

mickeysofine
2009-12-14, 03:40 PM
there is a variant rule i read somewhere that lets rogues swap sneak attack for a fighter feat and vice-versa.

mickeysofine
2009-12-14, 03:49 PM
hey, decided order of turns was stupid. will do so for combat through initiative but no order of turns during non combat parts. just post as often as you want

Saintjebus
2009-12-15, 12:02 AM
Did that militia man make his save? he seems to have, but it could be, "I know someone said something, but no one is there."

Splodgey
2009-12-15, 07:53 AM
my dex!

You ba****d :smallyuk:

Also time for level 2 hp : [roll0]

Did that militia man make his save? he seems to have, but it could be, "I know someone said something, but no one is there."

you were the only one capable in the tavern of having a gnome voice hence why he came to our table, plus you look wizardly.... also i don't think it would have mattered (he still hears the message even if he disbelieves) unless of course you just wanted to freak him out :smalltongue:

Saintjebus
2009-12-15, 09:17 AM
I really was just going for effect. Nothing says, "powerful wizard" like voices coming from everywhere. But yes, you are correct- it wouldn't really matter. I was really just curious.

Sillycomic
2009-12-15, 03:15 PM
Typical dwarf... I think with those numbers I don't even have a light buzz going.

Sigh. Maybe if I bring a barrel of ale around with me things might change.

Although, I am getting a cool idea now... perhaps my cleric will take to microbrewing. How interesting.

Saintjebus
2009-12-15, 04:24 PM
Hey, I'm just surprised I succeeded at a fort save. probably the last time you'll see that happen. :)

Sillycomic
2009-12-15, 05:16 PM
You succeeded on the one fort save that would make you happy and forget that we're going into a swamp filled with huge monsters that want to kill you and take your lewts...

lol... you should have failed. A drunken gnome would have been hilarious. Especially an illusionist.

Demons_eye
2009-12-15, 05:35 PM
Gah forgot saves

[roll0]encounter checks

mickeysofine
2009-12-15, 07:47 PM
it was randomly determined Lee (or maybe you just looked the tastiest)

Splodgey
2009-12-15, 08:16 PM
Hey i don't mind, random creatures love me, and maybe the alcohol smells nice.

Think we should start having penalties for creatures wanting to eat us more when we smell more like alcohol.

Also, if its captured, i've always wanted a snake skin belt - but in character, it was only hunting and I would say to let it go.

Demons_eye
2009-12-15, 08:18 PM
Captured just means hes in the net and can not get out, not that he can not attack. I learned this the hard way once :smallannoyed:

Edit: Also Jack would be opposed to killing the animal.

Sillycomic
2009-12-15, 11:37 PM
I doubt the dwarf would know much about the hunting habits of snakes. He prrobably just saw it attacked and hit back. Ah the simple life of a dwarf.

Do you want us to roll critical stuff with our regular attack? I honestly didn't think it would happen, not with a warhammer's 20x3 crit....

Does anyone have some knowledge nature so we can cut it up for snake steaks?

Maybe ranks in Profession:Butcher?

Saintjebus
2009-12-15, 11:58 PM
lol. I'm going to spend every battle mopping up. I really need a higher init modifier. Guess I know what my level 3 feat is going towards.

no I'll just multiply your original damage.

don't bother about rolling 3 times.

Sillycomic
2009-12-16, 12:42 AM
Yeah, I was thinking it would be a bit much considering... only a 5 percent chance and I have to keep rolling all these useless numbers most of the time.

Cool, thanks.

mickeysofine
2009-12-16, 01:12 AM
np :smallwink:

also saintjebus, maybe you should find a magic item to increase your initiative rather then spending a feat slot on improved initiative.

Saintjebus
2009-12-16, 01:28 AM
I didn't know there were magic items that would do that. Good to know, I'll have to look them up.

Sillycomic
2009-12-16, 01:33 AM
http://www.devinweb.com/magicitems.htm

Anything and everything magical. It'll tell you the price, what book it's in, and just what it does.

From glancing it over (not including Dex increasing stuff) with a good 50,000 gold you could probably raise your Initiative up by like 6 or so.

This doesn't have to do with Initiative checks, but it's for a gnome, so I thought it was super awesome.

Golden Apron +2 AC, gnome gains DR 5/magic and +2 saves vs fire and heat. 22,000 from Defenders of the Faith.

You should TOTALLY wear an apron made out of gold! How cool is that?

Saintjebus
2009-12-16, 01:56 AM
Gnome illusionist, traipsing around wearing a gold apron...... lol. That's funny. And I'm an illusionist, too, so I could always make people wonder, "Is it really gold?"

Splodgey
2009-12-16, 07:53 AM
I would've liked to skin and fillet the snake before we moved on, but no one has anything in profession butcher do they?

Nope?

Mind if i do it?

What you do?

Too late, sorry.

[roll0]

mickeysofine
2009-12-16, 09:06 AM
i think the snake would have been reasonably unskinnable after being squashed and splattered with a warhammer.

but if you want to..... 15? I'll say that's a pass. you acquire partially flattened snake skin and fillet

Sillycomic
2009-12-16, 10:06 AM
Yeah... snake fillet. and the best part is that i already tenderized it.

Splodgey
2009-12-16, 10:12 AM
im so going cross-class with ranks in butcher now. :smallcool:

On a serious note, pre-tenderized meat is cool and the skin has to be flat anyway so no issues there.

Saintjebus

I'm going to adjust my character sheet with my ration used. I'm going to assume I've been eating all day, and this is simply the last of the day's rations.

Sillycomic
2009-12-16, 10:57 PM
Character sheet updated as well.

I totally forgot to buy flint and steel. What kind of dwarf doesn't have flint and steel? They hand those things out to the kiddy dwarves in kindgergarten.

Saintjebus
2009-12-17, 12:02 AM
I have flint and steel. Silly dwarves. Gnomes know that kindergarten is far too late to begin teaching children the wonders of playing with fire.

Also, I'm swapping out a spell slot- dropping ventriloquism for summon monster. Just sayin'.

mickeysofine
2009-12-17, 02:20 AM
yeah fine, sounds good.

i was surprised the party dwarf didn't have flint and steel.

also sorry for all the asking questions etc. we are currently doing random encounters and as such, are not very interesting...

Splodgey
2009-12-17, 07:26 AM
Sorry guys, I didn't have time to post, the hour of staying up before we all roll in, ill share my snake fillet with everyone, give you all some meat rather than iron rations to eat.

Sillycomic
2009-12-17, 02:50 PM
That is awesome, thanks Splodgey. Ok... I'll eat snake meal instead of a ration.

Super delicious.

mickeysofine
2009-12-17, 06:47 PM
alrighty.

Saintjebus

I'm kind of surprised that I'm going first. Yay for high rolls on Initiative. lol

Demons_eye
2009-12-18, 03:05 PM
Dice hate me......

Sillycomic
2009-12-18, 04:59 PM
Yeah, that sucks. I am sorry.

Is it weird I'm afraid to hit it cause I may just smash it to smitherines? Hmmm, while the thought of more reptile meat is pleasing... I don't want everyone to be mad at me.

If he's not disabled by the ropes, I think I might try to grapple with him. How fun will that be?

Demons_eye
2009-12-18, 05:01 PM
You can do nonlethal damage, basically if his nonlethal damage equals his current HP hes knocked out.

Sillycomic
2009-12-18, 06:44 PM
Yeah, but using a melee weapon to deal nonlethal damage is a -4 penalty. That's pretty harsh for level 2.
I would basically be rolling a d20 to hit.

Perhaps if he's disabled with the rope it might help... but still I would rather grapple. I only have to hit his touch ac. His touch ac should be about 10 minus whatever dex penalties he's getting from being blind and entangled in the rope. And I still get to use my bonus to hit.

Sillycomic
2009-12-19, 12:25 AM
So, is the lizard answering the gnome in draconic? Or can the rest of us hear his side of the conversation?

I won't want to respond if I can't understand what you're talking about.

Splodgey
2009-12-19, 08:28 PM
Hey guys, flying message, im on holiday till the 2nd of january, promise im not abandoning you, and i will be back then with an in depth detailed post, promise

Sillycomic
2009-12-22, 01:05 PM
So are we going to take a break for the holidays?

Demons_eye
2009-12-23, 02:08 PM
I've been a bit bizzy so maybe? Will pick up more after the holidays but will post as much as I can.

Sillycomic
2009-12-23, 02:46 PM
Sounds good. Merry Christmas, happy holidays everyone.

Saintjebus

mickeysofine
2009-12-25, 05:01 PM
sorry was busy with Christmas mostly. how about a break for the holidays or until a later date.

and you get to see his side of the conversation cause it saves the translator re posting or adding the note it's been translated by. etc.

Sillycomic
2010-01-03, 05:30 PM
Hey guys? How is everyone doing? Had a fine Christmas?

I got a car for Christmas. 2001 Tauros. She purrs like a kitten! lol.

mickeysofine
2010-01-03, 05:33 PM
yeah i had an alright Christmas, new years was better though.... i got a motorbike, it's a bit old but well kept.

Saintjebus
2010-01-03, 05:35 PM
Ooh. Nice. I wish I got cool things like that for Christmas...... *envy*

I'm ready to start up again whenever everyone else is.

I got a sweet watch.

Sillycomic
2010-01-06, 12:39 AM
Noo!!! This game was really fun. Come back peoples! Let's play.

I wanna fight some goblins and steal their lewts!!!

Saintjebus
2010-01-06, 12:44 AM
And me as well. I would love to continue this game.

Demons_eye
2010-01-06, 03:12 PM
I am still here

mickeysofine
2010-01-06, 06:40 PM
well saintjebus has already started playing take turns as you want anyone who has lost interest tell me to do so, or...... or i will eventually work it out by your lack of turns and leave your character in a ditch anyway. much love mickeysofine :smalltongue:

Sillycomic
2010-01-06, 07:05 PM
I am here... still wanting to play...

And angry I didn't pick up draconic as a language. Argh!

Sillycomic
2010-01-12, 01:45 AM
A start and stop...

The only conclusion I can come up with is that my dwarf's plan is so brilliant that no one else can honestly post to top it?

Or perhaps we are waiting for a rogue?

Saintjebus
2010-01-12, 01:46 AM
I was waiting for the rogue to speak up(Lee, I think). I'm thinking a dragon illusion combined with Ghost sound will make a pretty standard distraction.

mickeysofine
2010-01-12, 06:41 PM
I am waiting for someone to say they are doing they're doing something, i.e. 'I sneak up to the pirate camp'.

but we should wait for the rogues input.
who knows when was the last time we saw him on?

Sillycomic
2010-01-13, 04:15 PM
Before Christmas, I think.

I am not sure. Perhaps we are rogueless. Or the Crimson Tide got him, and we just have all failed out spot checks to see the rogue is missing.

Saintjebus
2010-01-13, 07:32 PM
Hm. Well, If Colin is the one sneaking in, I think that a fog cloud might work as a better illusion. Let sounds in the fog w/ ghost sound make their imaginations run wild.

mickeysofine
2010-01-13, 07:55 PM
colin where are you!?

Sillycomic
2010-01-16, 08:57 PM
I sent him a message Thursday. He's been on several times since then and never responded. So, I think he's out guys.

I think there's a bard interested in joining us in the original thread... otherwise we might need a new roguish type to just pop up out of the sand.

In either case, my dwarf is taking no action until the sneaky types send some sort of signal they're in trouble
