Do you know of any map generation tools? I'm looking at putting a world together but I can't seem to find the right program to accomplish this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've found that AutoREALM (http://autorealm.sourceforge.net/) works well for general mapping. GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) allows you to make the maps more visually appealing if you know what you are doing. Both are free. There are also a number of random map generators out here, but they tend to be a bit messy or limited to small scale dungeons.

Wait! They don't love you like I love you. Wait! They don't love you like I love you. MA-a-A, A-a-A, A-a-A, A-a-Ap- Oh, what?

I've kinda given up on AutoRealm and just started using Illustrator, but it does have some pretty neat tools, and is free.

Autorealm is fantastic I used it all the time before I started handdrawing my maps.

If you prefer to roll dice and write things down (like I do), the 1e DMG has a great mapping tool in the back.

...and the perfect complement to the DMG mapping system is the freeware (and idiotproof) Dungeoncrafter mapping programme w. TSR Classic Blue tilesets.

Sorry: DC 1.4 download (http://dungeon-crafter.software.informer.com/1.4/)
TSR Blassic Clue Tiles (http://classicarcana.com/Classic%20Blue%20Tiles.zip)
