Aecus
2009-12-16, 04:25 PM
Do I see you and if I do what do I see?

You currently see a Huge Sized human with feathery wings and metal gauntlets, along with various other accessories.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 04:27 PM
Vison modes?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 04:28 PM
No magical concealment works, other than that none.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 04:32 PM
You don't see anything.

Edit: I take that back. You see a 5-ft sphere of silvery light in N-26, +150 elevation.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 04:39 PM
Edit: Ignore this, let me rethink.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 04:42 PM
Eh I end up doing the same thing anyway.

The huge man flies over to the at X, Y, Z 1-3 and takes a dive into it.

Move action to fly to the water.
Move action to dive into the water 40ft, 20ft if swim check is failed.
Fail swim check on a natural one
[roll=1d20]

Aecus
2009-12-16, 04:44 PM
Le sigh...

And a roll for the sharks even though they can't do anything. I want to see how many I have nibbling on me by the end :smallsigh:

[roll0] Low bad

Observers

[roll1]

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 04:50 PM
Ookay...

You can't see me, but I'm taking a running dive into the ocean at Y-2.

Do I see you? I have actions remaining.

Observers:Activate boots of haste, do the above.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 05:20 PM
You should see me 40ft down.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 05:22 PM
The sphere of light passes through you to -50.

If you can cast spells:You're aware that you cannot cast defensively without bad things happening.

Observers:Swift "water jump" to Y-2, -50.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 05:26 PM
Wait a tick. You probably occupy -50. Make that -60 if you do.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 05:31 PM
The Giant disappears.

If you can see invisible

He is still there, ghostly and insubstantial.

If you are ethereal (this is also a question)

He is solidly right next to you. What does he see if this is so?

I am not sure whether this applies yet but if you can cast spells.

You are aware you cannot cast defensively.

I still have actions left.

Edit: I occupy -40 to -55.

Edit2: I forgot, for observers.

Swift Action: Empy Self

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 05:42 PM
Ah. Hello there.

I'm ethereal.

You see a taller than normal warforged in Y-2 -60, wearing a chain shirt and sprouting glimmering fur from spaces where wood would normally be. His head is distended into the maw of a bear. The head of his two-handed spear is serrated and sharply pointed, and it seems to constantly flicker between the ethereal and material. He has large, feathery wings that seem very out of place.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 05:50 PM
Make an opposed attack roll verse a disarm check.

[roll0] +2 if you can cast arcane spells or have invocations.

If that fails

A second disarm check
[roll1] Again +2 if you cast arcane spells or invocations

I still have actions left.

Edit: Forgot observers again

Standard Action: Start of a flurry

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 05:59 PM
The warforged murmurs "Pierce the heavens" before struggling against your blow.

Opposed attack roll: [roll0]

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:00 PM
Do I get an opposed roll to disarm you after the first, or no?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:02 PM
Ah sorry no you do not. Edit: I don't provoke a disarm.

Unless you think you can disarm my arms, but that wouldn't be fair.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:04 PM
Opposed disarm 2: [roll0]

...crap.

Edit: Wait a second.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:09 PM
Those are unarmed disarms, yes?

If so, you're now holding a longsword, not a spear. Its blade flickers between the ethereal and material.

Still your turn?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:12 PM
That was a close one. Edit: Yes sorry, its still my turn and that was an unarmed disarm.

I'm a bit fuzzy on the rules for grappling with items in hand so if I can keep hold of the longsword I do so. If I cannot, and I can throw it away with with a free action I do so, if I can't do that I simply drop it.

I do not provoke an attack of opportunity

I do a touch attack to start a grapple.

[roll0] +2 if you have Arcane Spells.

Opposed Grapple roll

[roll1]

If that Succeeds take

[roll2] + [roll3] (If you cast arcane spells) Bludgeoning Damage

If that Succeeds

Opposed grapple roll to do damage.

[roll4]

[roll5] + [roll6] (If you cast arcane spells) Bludgeoning Damage

If that fails

Another touch attack to start a grapple.

[roll7] +2

Opposed Grapple Roll

[roll8]

[roll9] + [roll10] (If you cast arcane spells) Bludgeoning Damage

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:17 PM
You have the longsword in hand.

Both touch attacks miss.

Done?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:18 PM
Yes I am done.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:27 PM
The warforged draws a shortspear and jumps down five feet. The spear ignites.

I believe you get an AoO for this before I do anything else.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:33 PM
If you mean jumps up and then jumps down... okay.

[roll0] +2 If you can cast arcane.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:45 PM
The ethereal plane doesn't have gravity. Direction is only relevant for the map, really.

Opposed: [roll0]

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:47 PM
Ugh.

The warforged kicks at you four times in rapid succession.

[roll0] for [roll1]
[roll2] for [roll3]
[roll4] for [roll5]
[roll6] for [roll7]

I need to know which, if any, hit.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:49 PM
Ouch, all of them do.

The huge human looks like he has had better days. MANY better days.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:50 PM
You're subjected to the effect of Greater Dispel Magic three times.

Batch 1:
[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]
[roll3]
[roll4]
[roll5]
[roll6]
[roll7]
[roll8]
[roll9]

Batch 2:
[roll10]
[roll11]
[roll12]
[roll13]
[roll14]
[roll15]
[roll16]
[roll17]
[roll18]
[roll19]

Batch 3:
[roll20]
[roll21]
[roll22]
[roll23]
[roll24]
[roll25]
[roll26]
[roll27]
[roll28]
[roll29]

Any visual effects?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:53 PM
He shrinks tremendously. Besides that you do not see anything.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:53 PM
Your turn.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 06:55 PM
A single attack that ignores all bonuses to AC granted by spells, and will dispel any spells that give such AC bonuses.

[roll0]

[roll1]

I still have actions left.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 06:59 PM
Miss.

tenletters.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 07:04 PM
The Human flaps his wings mightily and moves to +680 Y (720 ft up), or in the case that a dive like that does not work in the Ethereal he simply moves to +320 Y (360 ft up)

He does not provoke an AoO.

Your turn.

This right now is a delaying action :smallsigh: I should have done this a turn earlier.

Observers

Used the Belt of Battle for a Full Round Action to Withdraw in a dive upwards. Then a move action to move further upwards.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 07:05 PM
By which method is he avoiding an AoO?

It's relevant.

Also, mind that travel on the ethereal is half speed.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 07:06 PM
How did you reach me in the first round then?

He is using a withdraw option.

And if a dive is possible use the second numbers, half them if a dive is not.

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 07:09 PM
I have a great deal of movement available to me, as well as three virtual move actions a round if I need them.

Withdraw is a full-round action, so I can only surmise that you used a belt of battle for an extra standard action.

I have the Thicket of Blades stance, which lets me take an AoO for your movement regardless.

[roll0] for [roll1]

Aecus
2009-12-16, 07:11 PM
And that is game.

I guess I still have a lot to learn.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get so many abilities out? Crusader and contingency spells (for what I guess is Bite of the Werebear?)

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 07:13 PM
Disciplined Aptitude for Crusader so I didn't need very many levels, and the contingency only takes cash.

Or did you mean how I activated them all in two rounds?

Aecus
2009-12-16, 07:15 PM
Ah no, that answers my questions thank you.

I am hesitant to use contingency crafted spells but apparently that needs to change. This was quite informative. Good fight.

Aecus
2009-12-16, 07:22 PM
Actually one more question if possible. How did you get all of those dispels off?

Tanaric
2009-12-16, 07:23 PM
Dispelling weapon.
