It seem that Uncanny Forethought (Exemplars of Evil) and Rapid Metamagic (Complete Mage) lets you spontaneously turn a prepared spell into any other spell you know as a standard action, so long as you use a metamagic feat on the spell you are attempting to cast with Uncanny Forethought.

If you combined this with heighten power & earth power, you could potentially cast higher level spells from lower level spell slots!

Relevant wordings of feats:

Uncanny Forethought
As a full round action, you can use a reserved slot to cast any spell that you know. The spell is resolved as normal, but for the purposes of the spell, your caster level is reduced by two. The level of the slot used must be equal to or greater than the level of the spell you intend to cast.

Rapid Metamagic
When you apply a metamagic feat to a spontaneously cast spell, the spell takes only its normal casting time.

Rapid Metamagic exists to let Spontaneous casters apply metamagic on the fly without the casting time change (making their casting time the same as it is for prepared casters). It changes a general mechanic for you.

Uncanny Forethought is more specific than that as it specifically requires a full-round action through its application. Even prepared casters have to change their time with this.

Specific trumps general.

etc.

Doesn't work that way.
