... I'm having trouble thinking if there is any possible build that would be worse for Mr. Q to fight than Train. Very tricky.

Ow, yeah, that's a hit. I don't feel good about my chances on this attack, but what the heck.

Doesn't H-14 have lava? I wouldn't think you could stand there.

Sure it has a little lava, but Q isn't standing on the lava bit. Sort of like the the land/water tiles at the Rivers map.

Withdraw! North East to Q4, South East to T7 for that 20ft running start, high jump up onto the pillar, continue all 20ft across the pillar and long jump out to to T16.

Haven't played on Rivers. Wouldn't mind it, though, seems like a good map that doesn't require many LoS checks.

I assume failing the high jump changes your turn?

Fall damage, nice bonus. I think that puts this within a range where I can win it with the sling.

Anyway, as train moves from N5 to Q17, he doesn't see Q, but I think Q sees him. Secondthird opinion?

:smallconfused: That LoS can't be right, Q ended with LoS to Train so at the least he should have seen which way Train went.

True Mr. Q in T-13 and Train in N-5 both had basic cover from the other, but only Mr. Q was trying to use that cover to hide.

Ok... I'm not sure how LoS can exist between Q-17 and T-13 with that pillar, and I'm not sure how Train could have gotten to Q-17 without ever breaking cover to gain a LoS and a rewind. Still, with two LoS checks made I'm not going to go demanding a third one. It's possibly me that's mistaken on something.

LoS established as Mr. Q reaches T12; Train is in T13. Mr. Q may revise turn from that point.

Mr. Q:Isn't it a DC20 jump between the pillars? I'd thought it was the distance covered that mattered, since movement for a Medium creature is technically in 5ft increments, and you can't really move 'edge to edge.'

Nope, it really is edge-to-edge by precedent. The actually distance jumped over the gap is only the 15ft edge-to-edge distance even if the distance traveled is greater.

7 flail damage + 2 falling +8 sling...assuming that hit, that seems like it might be game. If so, well played, the jumping strategy was a good choice aside from the roller not agreeing.
