I will buy a scroll of Expeditious Retreat, Swift [25g]. I'll have to ask you to write down your starting position, and what you're holding when you're done with your purchases, too.

Lets see, a potion of Invisibility, 2 scrolls of Seeking Ray, 2 scrolls of Alter Self, 2 Scrolls of Magic Missile, a scroll of swift Invisibility, a scroll of Entangle, 2 scrolls of Silent Image...

That might be it. Still thinking.

My starting position would be Y10, with a potion in one hand and a bigass scroll in the other.

So, let me think about my exact purchases (and calculate the costs of everything).

His Familiar, "The Word", was carried with Farkis. After Farkis moved, his Familiar moved into your square and attacked you.

Well, that kinda makes sense...

No - Round 1

I'll just ready an action:

Cast Backbiter defensively on Farkis if he attacks me.

End turn.

Guess that readied action has to save you

Bayar
2010-01-02, 03:20 PM
You triggered my trap card readied action !

5 foot step into Y 11. Since I did this before you or your familiar attacked, I might not take damage from the Word...but not sure about this.

Casting Backbiter defensively: [roll0]

If a bite natural weapon is considered in a character's possesion, make a DC 12 Will save.

02youeng
2010-01-02, 05:34 PM
Oooh, sneaky. I was expecting an Entangle. My familiar needs to be in your square to attack, so no AoO from him, as 5ft steps don't give AoO's.

Will Save to win then, I guess.

[roll0] [Yayness for Rage]

10ft reach with mah bite chomps you in half then, I guess. Anything I got wrong that you can see?

Bayar
2010-01-03, 04:47 AM
Cant see anything wrong with that. Unless a ref has anything to object to...

Heh, bought that scroll at character creation and saved it for this kind of ocasion. Of course, I had alternatives, but decided to go all or nothing on this one.

Ah well, GG.

High Ref PsiDog

Farkis chomps his way to victory!

It wouldn't have changed the outcome, but be advised that the last readied action included an illegal 5-ft step. While 5-ft steps can be used as part of readied actions, they still must be declared when the action is readied. In this case only the backbiter was readied, so only the backbiter action could have been taken.

Well, it's good to know.
