The leadership boosts are kinda cool: armies of thousnads willing to die without pay!

The problem with epic abilities is that the best ones just mimic casting anyway. Epic Balance mimics flight, Epic Escape Artists mimics being incorporeal, Epic Diplomacy mimics Dominate Monster, Epic Leadership gives you casters...

Additional Magic Item Space
Lingering Sneak
Penetrating Strike (the SA feat that lets 1/2 go through every time)
Great Smiting (you need to have a decent smiting class level for this to be worth it)
Dire Charge (if you can't pounce already it's not bad)

There are a few others, but you'll be left wanting more as a non-caster. When push comes to shove, you honestly may just want to pick up non-epic feats.

It's also available at level 3 as an alternate class feature in Dungeonscape (trading out Trap Sense). Does that really count as "epic"?

And Dire Charge is available as a level one Barbarian alternate class feature, but can be used every round, not just the first.

See also: Melee doesn't get nice things, especially in epic.

Epic Escape Artists mimics being incorporeal

Except that there's no spell called Crawl Inside People. :smallwink:

I like Dexterous Fortitude and Dexterous Will. Rogues make 95% of all saves, guaranteed.

How would this interact with Divine Paladin?

Damage Reduction and Fast Healing aren't terrible.

Add Reflect Arrows and Infinite Deflection to that!

True - generally, the epic skills are more powerful than their magical counterparts

Epic Balance is non-magical, and not even extraordinary, so it can't be shut down by anything; Epic Diplomacy gives you a lot more control than mere domination; and of course, Epic Leadership can give you enough casters to make mitigating Epic spells a breeze.

Magic Jar. You crawl inside them so hard their own soul falls out of their eyeballs.

on-topic: Muggles get nothing worth having above ~10th level, let alone in Epic.

Where are those feats?

Also would you guys recommend taking the feats that improve your ability scores by 1 from the Epic Level Handbook? You know the feat that either increases STR, DEX, CON, INT, Wis, or CHA?

If you've taken all the other ones you want, and are getting a load of spare Epic Feats then they're not bad (of course getting to that level requires Epic Spellcasting be banned, otherwise you might as well take Weapon Focus over and over).

Think he meant "worth taking".

Most non-caster abilities in the epic level handbook are solidly tier 4 (only epic, so more powerful for tier 4). Compared to casting, of course it's weak.

The more powerful combos for characters in classes at lower tiers involve not exploiting individual abilities, but combining abilities in such a way as to produce ridiculous effects.

Far Shot combines well in that sense for ranged characters, and some enhancements to critical hits would work well for characters who make a lot of attacks.

The "+1 to any stat" feat is solidly Tier 5, weaker than most other epic feats. It would only be worthwhile for low-power epic games in which characters gained power fairly slowly even at epic levels, and so could be expected to gain a lot of levels to be able to accumulate feats like that. For instance, you need to have 60 HD before +2 con gives you more HP than two Epic Toughnesses, and that's the epic version of Toughness, one of the weakest feats in the game.
