Welcome to the Insanowar!


Da Rules:
1.) There are five players, each of which represent a commander of their army.

2.) Each player takes turns choosing some powerful character, semi-powerful group of characters, or large mob of expendable non-characters from any sort of media. Examples: The TMNTs, a Dreadnought from 40K, a mob of kobolds.

3.) When each player has 10 selections, the game begins.

4.) A map will be provided showing the layout of the battlefield. Each person will have a base of operations with which they can wage war. Note that each base is about 2 turns away from each other.

5.) A static turn order is established. In each turn, the player dictates what their troops are doing, as far as the opponent can see. Secret actions need not be reported (although it is good sportsmanship to give hints as to what your are planning).

6.) When troops engage, the person whose turn the engagement took place on decides the outcome, which will usually NOT be all one way. If there is any friendly dispute (and the dispute WILL be friendly, or else), other players/playgrounders chime in with their opinions. If no consensus is reached, it's a 50/50 slaughter.

7.) The winner is the one who wins.

Da Guidelinez:
1.) You can't choose anyone TOO powerful. No gods, demigods, anything like that. Make it something that's about the same power level as the other troops on the field.

2.) Don't be a jerk. The objective here is to have fun--frankly, who wins and who loses is pretty arbitrary anyway. This game is definitely straddling the line between Silly and Structured.

3.) Respect Awesomeness. If a player is pulling off something that's just too awesome to believe, that should aid his victory.

4.) Enjoy yourself. Seriously, guys.

Okay, you have until January the 1st to sign in. People with proven reserved slots get in first, then the others get in in the order they signed up.

Yea, just to ask people to be forgiving of the bad spelling and grammer of my early post in this game, my p.c broke and I'm posting from my google phone (which, alas, is missing a spell and grammer check). I do suffer from dyslexia if that will help you forgive me. This will also mean I will edit my post a lot but will try not to change it in any signifcant way, just to make it make more sense. If this is a big prob let us know and I will drop out

Do you particularly mind in which order we pick our teams? 'cause I have my first pick ready now, and in the previous games it was usually best to move this stage along as fast as we could, so we could get into the game.

If there's no objections, I'll take:

2. Professor X (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor_X#Powers_and_abilities), from X-Men. He's a powerful telepath, as well as an ingenious scientist. I won't be abusing his telepathy much, and it's likely he'll be a highly toned down version instead of that from the wiki.

Is that a viable choice? If not, I can replace it easily.

4. Tyrannosaurus X and Dinomite, the Robot Dinosaurs That Shoot Beams When They Roar (http://www.kongregate.com/games/I_smell/robot-dinosaurs-that-shoot-beams-when-they-roar). Self explanatory, really.
5. 10 Murderous Redcaps (http://magiccards.info/fnmp/en/110.html). Your basic goblin assassins that come back to life when they die. I'm gonna say that they won't deal the first round of damage, cause that'd be confusing, but they will deal the lot when they're revived.

They have perfect stealth to sight, but other forms of detections could pick them up. They unstealth when next to enemy units and remain unstealthed (such an ugly phrase, but it's the best I've got) until they move again.

A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. I knew, for example, I wanted a combat expert, but I didn't know who I wanted before I picked Jack. I wanted some tanks before I picked the stealth tanks. It's like that for most of my picks.

Well, I am actively avoiding redundancy (after picking Jack West and his team, I felt that MacGyver was redundant, no matter how cool he was, which made me very, very sad). On the whole, my plans for this sort of thing are almost always the same, and my picks work well with it.

For my last four picks:

It's the same one as in Insano 6. In case you didn't notice.
The bases are in turn order : Random_Person at the top, me top right, bishfish on the right, Robert Blackletter on the left and billtodamax top left.

To take your turn, just say what your units do on that turn. The Previous games section at Insanowar Central is a good medium for learning how to do this properly.

The brown is sandy desert area.

The blue is a small pool of water.

The green is an area with short grass and plants.

There are trees around the pools, all oasis-like.

Oh, and the red spots with squiggles by them are bases. They have a wall and a gate that (until destroyed) only lets the owner's units through. Each base has a large hall, a few corridors with offices in them for all your computer equipment scavenging needs and a bathroom.

Everyone in the base gets assimilated, thereby sharing all skills and knowledge instantly.

1. 14 Borg drones. (13 of which are developing and will be combat-ready in 2 turns).
2. 51 juvenile Borg drones. (developing, will be combat-ready in 2 turns).
3. The Halicarnassus (AKA a 747 with vast amounts of weaponry, armor, and stealth technology) (assimilated but developing, will be mentally controlled by the new collective in 2 turns)
4. A bio-weapon (assimilated, developing, will be mentally controlled by the collective in 2 turns, will be reproduced throughout the collective in 5).
5. A crate of 24th century technology (assmilated, will be reproduced throughout the collective in 5 turns).

The two Bill Blasters are set up just inside the base.

Bouldergiest leans out of the door before throwing a ball of sand at BishFish's base. It hits the gate, and bounces off, going splat in the sand outside.
From inside the base comes a small shower of sand. A strange rumbling can be heard...

some action figures stand guard on the gate, so small they are not visible from other bases. some more run out into the desert. they get 50 feet before camping for the night.
The air drone flies towards the center of the battle field to inspect the lay of the land.
The dragon flies off toward the base which attacked it. The rest stay in lkthe guard room, a fair distance away from the pile of text books.

Maleficent Cast a spell from the battlement turning the sky dark and stormy. making the ground underneath almost as dark as night. The ground for some distance around the base grow massive thorn bushes that seem to twist and move has if they had a will of there own making land movement incredible difficult close to the base.

With a smile she turns to her Familiar Diablo
"Fly, tell me where the dangers lie. I am surrounded by fools and dreamers so be careful your the only one i trust."
with that the raven takes flight to scout the other bases carefully.

Else where in the base Stewie and the doctor are deep in conversation around the Tardis. When Ben walks by.
"What you talking about"
"Well this baby, who i must say is simply brilliant, thinks he can fix my tardis. "
"Watch me"He walks into the tardis "What the deuce?!"
"Let me have a go" and turns to gray matter "fixed it"
A Omnitrix! not seen one in years mmmmm... that gives me an idea"....


Else where Kovacs and the beast are talking to the ninjas. they split them in to 5 groups of 2000 each.
group one is lead by the beast and leaves to take the middle of the battle field.
group 2 is headed by section 8 and is in stealthy ninja style towards bish fish base.
group 3 is Headed by Kovac in an geeko sleeve heading towards billtodamaxs.
group 4 is headed by the G.A.P and is marching towards nehh base
group 5 is headed by Cassidy heading to random persons base.

Each group has order to avoid conflict unless sure of a causing damage and if they have a leader(s) to keep them alive. They are also order to capture members of each base if possible and to transport them back for interrogation.

Jesse and Tulip have commandeered a room and ask nicely for everyone to leave them alone. From the nosy being made they seem to be enjoying themselves.

Maleficent: Has cast a spell, within one turn of my base movement for land-based hostile forces is difficult due to the living thorn bushesand the sky has been darken to night time around the base but merely twillight else where.
Diablo: Is currently scouting.
Takeshi_Kovacs : In geeko sleeve leading an ninja army towards billtodamax's base
Beast : leading an army towards the centre
Jesse Custer and Tulip O'hare are current indisposed at the base.
Cassidy is leading a force towards Random-person base.
the doctor, ben ten (as grey matter) and stewie have fixed the camouflage circuit on the tardis.
Section 8 are current leading an army towards bish fish
G.A.P are currently leading a force towards nehh base
10,000 ninjas have been split into 5 groups of 2000 therefore increasing there effectiveness but they still pretty low powered

[Inside my base]

Alright. Say Professor Xavier as he studies his troops. Those that would seek to destroy us have already begun moving. He says. I would have liked more time to plan, but we must make do with what we've got. First of all we need to slow them down. You two. He points to the dinosaurs. Get out there. Force them to take cover. Slow them up. He says, as the dinosaurs lumber off.
Alright, you and you, Stay behind after the meeting. He points to the dark trooper and Jack. Bring me in one of those tanks, and a missile from that thing. He says, as the stormtrooper and the sniper proceed to acquire these things for him.

[Meanwhile, outside]

The gates swing open, as then ninja horde approaches.

Seeing their opportunity, the ninja's run for it, hoping to get inside and wreck destruction, when suddenly...

ROAR!

A bright beam of blue energy flies out towards them, decimating their numbers! The rest of the ninja seeks cover from this destructive beam, and when it stops they're up again! Unfortunately for them, the gate's closed again.

There's the giggling of several crazed goblins from behind the gate.

2. Professor X - In his lab.

4. Tyrannosaurus X and Dinomite - Behind the gate, ready to fire on any sneaky ninja's that try and get past.

Random but can I have how many you killed? It important for the ninjas cos they become more powerful the fewer there is. In the other game they had two spoilers at the end of. each post, one was of units left and what they are doing and the other death in that round.

As the dragon flies closer to the base, the rumbling stops. Bouldergiest points to it with one rocky hand whilst signaling to the micro-goombas with his other hand. Two of them step up, and he throws them straight at the dragon. One goes wide, and the dragon wheels round,
bats it with its wing and crunches it between its jaws. The other one, however, flies high above the dragon, backflips, plummets.....

Bonk!

... and bounces off the dragon's forehead, landing upside-down in the sand for a moment before righting itself again. As soon as it lands, the rumbling starts again...

"You dare attack us! I am the god of wrath!"

... as the giant robotic dragon Wracktail (who only has one weak point) arches out from under the sand, grabs the dragon in its mouth, crunches it a few times and spits it at the startled goblin adventuring party (except that cleric guy, I like him.)

So we are now taking turns in any old order? If so...

My base begins to expand, drawing on the ground itself, being extended by thousands of busy little nanobots...

1. 14 Borg drones. (13 of which are developing and will be combat-ready in 1 turn).
2. 51 juvenile Borg drones. (developing, will be combat-ready in 1 turn).
3. The Halicarnassus (AKA a 747 with vast amounts of weaponry, armor, and stealth technology) (assimilated but developing, will be mentally controlled by the new collective in 1 turn)
4. A bio-weapon (assimilated, developing, will be mentally controlled by the collective in 1 turns, will be reproduced throughout the collective in 4).
5. A crate of 24th century technology (assimilated, will be reproduced throughout the collective in 4 turns).
Note: Base is expanding and strengthening steadily.

By the way, I have an interesting question: how innovative are my Borg allowed to be? One of my picks creates magic by quoting poetry, so I was wondering whether my collective can think of useful bits of poetry beyond picking his memory of what effects things have already had. This will heavily affect my control of the battlefield as a whole, and to a lesser extent my long-ranged capabilities.

Well i thought that in cannon they could not create only assimilated others but this is a game for fun so I willing to allow them some creativity. As long as you don't make them indestructible I be fine with what ever you do.

Also good point nehh took his turn out of order i say let finish this turn and then return to the old order. I think it bishfish next?

Carrot, seeing the dragon be taken down by wracktail, runs towards their base, with his new found friends, some AP calculus text book,the drone picks him up allong with horde of assorted action figures. Carrot throws the book at Boldergeist, who tries to read it and runs away for fear that the functions might chase him. Meanwhile, Rumo, the wolf puppies, and the forest creatures, who are all good friends, go to the center of the battle field to be near some vegetation.

Kovacs takes a look around at the destruction around him, over a quarter of his force wiped out with no loss yet to those inside the base. Strangely the more hits his men took the faster and more effective they got. When he left he would have said they were nothing more then cannon folder but here they seem to start being good but untrained soldiers .
You guy call your selfs ninjas, up and over, kill any inside.
Watching them climb over, he briefly regretted there sacrifice knowing that most would die before getting close enough to do damage but necessary for him to get in. He climb an outer wall and explored the base, pausing quickly to watch the battle outside. Almost four firth of his force was dead, some had as per order fled the battle field but some battled on. Most likely to give the rest some time to escape. A few got among the goblin-like things behind the dinosaur, which they promptly wiped out. Yes thought Kovacs until the creature started getting up, and attacked the ninja from behind wiping out the remaining fighters.
Damn,Well time to hide until I get a chance to kill the leader of this base, I will avenge you my fallen brothers

@bishfish base.

Section 8 and the ninjas charge the base but it almost deserted apart from some Flying monkey, who annoyingly stay just out of reach and a girl with a bell and a sword. Six pack walk to the girl
well girl put that down and we see you safe Sixpack slurs to her, The girl knowing that these are the enemy stab sixpack, who promptly guts her with a broken bottle. This enraged flying monkeys who attack, at first the battle of bish base goes against them, with less said about what Bueno Excellente did to a fly monkey to grapple the better, but the soon discover the weakness of friendly fire, who a swarm. His wild blast along side the claw of the enraged monkey wipe out the army that had killed there friend, leaving merely a few scattered shreds of flesh.

The army arrives to see a strange site, the land around them seem to be changing, becoming more machine like

Well you bunch of Censored I Censored Censored Censored and Censored Censored of Censored and there mothers, you got that boys, so charge!!!!!!!!!

The resulting battle see massive damage done to the base and a few casualties to the borg but made massive gains with at least half the attacking force assimilated with roughly quarter wiped out and too damaged to be of much use. Cassidy escape, infected but the borg nano seem unable to copy with his undead body with the remaining 444 ninjas

Maleficent looks at the Beast furniture and see that it all contains living souls, with a small she starts to cast a spell that cause all his furniture to scream.

To clarify, you are saying that the base production is slowed, but the drones are still going to be active this turn?

And, sticking strictly to canon, Borg nanobots can cope with anything except an active and vicious immune system. Not that I'm complaining :D

Well to be fair have the Borg ever faced true undead? And you turn a Q? is that possible in Cannon? :smalltongue:
I was thinking of delaying there actions till next turn but that would make it another turn of waiting for you so how about that they are active but they only partial effective this turn due to minor repairs, being woken for battler early etc. So you can still do stuff with them but not at full effectiveness?

The Q was, strictly speaking, a biological human (explicitly noted when I picked him). As to partial effectiveness, hows about assimilation of knowledge and skills is delayed another turn, but they are still functional drones in their own right?

And no, I don't think that they have. Can undead be much harder than inanimate? Possibly. Ah well, as I said, not complaining at all about my new army.

EDIT: to clarify, I will be roleplaying the Borg to the hilt. No targetting until you become an obvious threat. The first turn assimilation was because it needed man/mindpower to get a collective going.

True he was a biologcal human i just looked into him and did not relise thay could be trap in human form.(i'm not a big trex fan to my shame, i only seen the shows where he was like a god, in fact i think in one episode he claim he was).

Also i think it would depend on what was animating the undead on how hard they were to take over. The borg are from a universe without magic so we cant check cannon as far as I'm aware. Gosh dang it.




Should warn you that Ben 10 would be immune to asasumulation as long as he is transformed as an alien. In cannon anything that tries to change his d.n.a or manipulate his (transformed) body is stopped by his omiltricks. You can only capture him in his human body (which i don't think he be using around you)

Let's see... I picked a lot of people who had individual skills. I also picked 50 normal human children. And a Borg drone.

Actually, the plan only occurred to me in the final stages of picking, the third round to be precise.

And, with twin beams of brilliant light, the fight is reduced to a crater. There were no survivors. Luckily, the missile system was unharmed!

Meanwhile, at Prof X's secret base!
The Professor comes out of his trance.
They have infiltrated the base. He says to the room at large. I'll have to move quickly. he says, turning back to his bench and messing about with the EMP generator.

Behind him, on the other side of the oddly spacious room, there's a swish as a sword is drawn.

Prepare to die. Says the ninja as he charges at Professor Xavier. Silent as a whisper in the night, and as swift as a freight train, he comes. Nothing can stop him, for he is... NINJA!

He jumps, thousands of feet high in a single, awe-inspiring jump. He descends, sword in hand, the sword that has lain waste to thousands, nay, millions of enemies, the sword that brought an end to the Butcherer of the South's terrible conquest, this was the sword that would strike true now, it would slice straight through the unassuming fool, he who tinkers with men and minds. Yes, this kill would be the sweetest of his ninja career, the highlight of his twenty years of service to the ninja academ- BAM!

Perhaps now would be a good time to explain what just happened.

*30 seconds earlier*

Jack stood at the side of the room, hidden in his perfect stealth, completely unmoving. The ninja didn't even know he was here. He saw him draw his sword. He saw his lips move out of sync with his words. He saw him charge across the room. He saw him jump in the air. He saw him begin to descend...

Then he made his move. He bent down low, and the Dark Trooper's jumppack that the professor had modded with the thrust system from the missile flared into life, Shooting him into space, straight towards the ninja. He pulled back his metallic fist, punching the ninja in the face with the combined force of the jumppack, and Jack's not inconsiderable strength. The ninja went flying across the room, colliding with the opposite wall. Jack followed him, activating his chainsaw. He swings it downwards towards the ninja, sending him flying towards the ground as the ninja just manages to bring up his sword to block.

Jack hits the wall and back-flips off of it, landing in front of the ninja. The ninja looks up into Jack's smiling face. He quickly leaps to his feet and charges at Jack. Why was the fool just standing there? Didn't he know that-

The ninja collapses to the ground as the professor temporarily shuts down the ninja's mind. Jack reaches down and picks the ninja up by the back of his robe, and hurls him across the room. Jack bends down and picks up the katana that the ninja dropped, and charges at him.

The ninja looks up just in time to be stabbed through the gut with his own katana. Jack with draws the katana and stabs the ninja again and again and again, spectacular spurts of blood shooting out of the ninja's back with every blow. Eventually he leaves the katana in the ninja, before throwing him against the wall. He charges the stunned ninja and drives his chainsaw straight through him.

The ninja slumps down, dead.

Elsewhere in the base!

Kovacs stole across the ceiling, looking down at anyone he could see. There. The magician. He'll do, for now. Kovacs thinks to himself. He readies himself to kill the magician, as a face flickers in front of his eyes. It was brief, but it was there. All in all, it was slightly confusing. A clown? he thinks. suddenly, a darkness appears to steal over the area.

The magician seems to slow down, each shuffles of his pack of cards taking him infinitely longer than the last, and with each shuffle the darkness creeps in, removing all light from the area.

Eventually, he's left, clinging to a roof he can't even see. Strangely, his hands were as easy to see as if he were standing in direct sunlight. There are occasional swirls of deep purple in the dark around him.

Then, quite suddenly, there's a laughter.
Ha ha ha ha ha hee hee hee...
Kovacs spins his head left, the laughter seeming as close as a whisper. But there was nothing there. Come out, show yourself. He says. He wasn't afraid. After all, all of the fear was removed years ago. What he was, however, was wary.
Oh, you'll see me soon enough... EE HA HA HA HA HA! Comes the voice, at points deep and dark, at others high and screechy, like nails on a chalkboard.
Get out here at once! He says, glancing around the darkness.
Oh, look at you, acting very brave, oh yes! You aren't afraid, are you? After all, all of your fear was removed years ago. The voice says again, and suddenly another flash in front of his face. That grinning clown face, with it's long needle like teeth, and misshapen proportions. Kovacs looked around with increased anxiety... no, that wasn't right. That was supposed to have gone too! What was going on here...?
DAMMIT JUST SHOW YOURSELF! He shouts, angry.
But Takeshi, I already have... says the voice. Kovacs strikes out at the darkness, sufficiently unnerved.
Oooo, we're getting to you now, aren't we?
Then, another flash in front of his face. Except... except it wasn't going away this time. He was right in front of him! That goddamned clown! Kovacs tries to punch the clown, but he's completely frozen. A new feeling steals over him. A feeling he hadn't had in so long...

Fear.

Oh, yes, there it is! There it is there it is there it is! Says the clown in front of him. Then a long talon reaches out towards him through the darkness.
Oh god, what the hell is it doing?! WHAT THE HELL IS IT DO- Kovacs' thoughts suddenly stop.

The darkness fades away, and the corridor is once again a normal corridor. The magician looks up at the ceiling. There's noone there. He smiles, and puts his pack of cards back in his pocket. Then, he steps around the corner of the corridor, and vanishes from sight.

In another corridor!

The Stormtrooper's body turns up, dead. His face has been completely erased.

Casualties:
155 ninjas and all of my goblins were killed/re-killed in an explosion on the outside of my base.
Kovacs' Gecko Sleeve was... well, it's best not to think about it. Suffice it to say, it won't be seeing anymore action.
Kovacs' fear has been reawakened.
The Stormtrooper has died, fueling the clown's sick magic.

Army List:
1. Stormtrooper - DEAD!
Shock Trooper, Scout Trooper, Imperial Engineer and Imperial Officer - In my base, somewhere.
Dark Trooper - Without his Jumppack and Arc Caster. He now only has his precision pistol, his lightweight armour, and four thermal detonators.
2. Professor X - In his lab, tinker with the EMP generator, and with the Arc Caster.
3. Jack Cayman - Wearing a modified cersion of the Dark Trooper's Jumppack. It now has a lot more power.
4. Tyrannosaurus X and Dinomite - Behind the gate, having decimated most of the ninja.
5. 10 Murderous Redcaps - DEAD!
6. 5 Stealth Tanks - Stealthily somewhere. One of the tanks is out the back of my base, without it's stealth.
7. Circus Clown - Disappeared after killing Kovacs.
8. Magician/Hypnotist - With the Clown.
9. Short-range EMP Generator - In the professor's lab/being tinkered with.
10. M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System - short a missile, outside the base, inside the gate.

I had to assume a couple of things about Kovacs, because the only information the web was giving me was that he had all of the things that stop humans from killing removed, and that he could change sleeves. I figured that he would just respawn in a different sleeve at your base, as his soul would have fled mine. Or maybe it reboots memories. I dunno, I haven't read the books. In any case, yeah. Ridiculous post of ridiculous length.

Combatants across the battlefield pause for an instant as this message is broadcast into their minds. The effect is eerie, as the impression is given of hundreds of minds, speaking in perfect unison, and backed by cold, hard, unfeeling metal.

The Borg are busy repairing their base, and do nothing to attack this turn.

Wracktail resurfaces from underground to see a horde of 2000 ninjas attacking his base. He brings his metal face up close to one of them, chomps down hard and bites a katana in two. He then comes down to eye level with the now disarmed ninja.

"Let's see you and your ninja friends dodge... bullets."

The two Bill Blasters spray the area with bullets. The ninjas dodge them easily.

"Right. Now, let's see you dodge... thwomps."


The ninjas dodge the thwomps and the bullets, but it is starting to get more difficult now. One gets his leg crushed - another is shot through the chest.

Wracktail laughs.

Now... Let's see you dodge ME!


Wracktail chomps his jaws twice, and charges after the ninjas, speeding up as he goes. He shuts his mouth and gives the group a mighty headbutt, and they are scattered across the landscape.

I wonder what kind of reaction I'll get from Prof. X and the Doctor. Working from the Bab 5 scale, Prof X is 10+ without question (I don't know enough about him), but I think that the sheer mass of mindpower may provide some issues, especially with that power being duplicated throughout my active drones. As to the Doctor, we all know how he responds to ultimatums.

What do other people think?

The military drone fires some missiles at Nehh's base blowing of the roof and rubble falls inside. carrot jumps off onto the parapet and attacks anything in sight. the action figures climb up peoples legs and attack them, distracting them for carrot to kill.

The beast see some strange creatures of legend with a pack of wolf puppy approach the centre. Signalling to his men to say hidden he waited in ambush. This was not the ones he wanted, the witch say that only the blood of a king who's bears the shield of law could cure him of his curse.. The Beast jumped out of hiding startling the creatures.

Leave these lands i have claims as my own, only those who show me allegiance can stay.

The centaur laughed at this puny creature making demands of him and charged. The beast waited until the last minute before leaping on his back and ripping his throat out out, some of the puppy saw there friend in danger and tried to attack but got hit darts from the shadows. The beast lost control for a minute and started ripping into the body and feeding off the still steaming flesh. When he had regained control he looked at the horrified and retreating creatures and screamed
BRING ME THE ONE WHO WEARS THE LAW AS A SHEILD

Here, take this, then get somewhere secure. We'll need you when the time comes. Now, I- Argh. The professor says, and he falls forwards, grabbing his head. Thousands of voices, resonating in his head, all saying the same thing.
What's happening? Jack asks in his gravelly voice.
It doesn't matter... just... go! The professor says, the voices echoing and distorting in the caverns of his mind.

Jack fades from view, leaving the professor there to suffer in his pain.

Got one. Says the scout trooper from just outside the gates of my base as he picks off a ninja. *Pew*There's another. *Pew* Another. Man, you aren't doing to well today. A little off your game? The sniper asks the Shock Trooper, who had been standing next to him, trying to pick off ninja with his precision pistol. They're moving too damn fast! He says, frustrated, as he misses another. He pulls something off his back as some ninja notice them and start running towards them. A group of about 50 or so.
Hey, you take care of them, I'm reloading. The Scout trooper says. Fine. says the Shock trooper, with a grin. Of course, the Scout couldn't see it under his helmet, so he didn't notice what the Shock Trooper was doing. Fire in the hole! He shouts, firing his rocket launcher towards the ninja. They move as one, diving to the right, skillfully avoiding the rocket.

You missed?! What the hell man? How could you miss! the sniper shouts as he finishes reloading. I can't take that many by myself! The ninja are almost upon them. The sniper raises his gun, ready to- *BOOM*

The ninja are hit in the back flank by the remote rocket the Shock trooper fired, killing all of them. Heh heh. You aren't doing well today, are you? He says, as he turns to head back inside the base, the Scout turning to follow him. The gates open a fraction and let them inside.

Casualties:
I'll call it... 55 ninja.

1. Stormtrooper - DEAD!
Shock Trooper, Scout Trooper - Just inside the gates.
Imperial Engineer and Imperial Officer - In my base, somewhere.
Dark Trooper - Without his Jumppack and Arc Caster. He now only has his precision pistol, his lightweight armour, and four thermal detonators.
2. Professor X - In his lab, bent over in pain from the Borg mental assault.
3. Jack Cayman - Is hidden. He's carrying a much larger, much more powerful version of the arc caster, and has a rocket- jump pack.
4. Tyrannosaurus X and Dinomite - Still behind the gate, guarding it from anyone that would try and enter my base.
5. 10 Murderous Redcaps - DEAD!
6. 5 Stealth Tanks - 4 are stealthily somewhere. One of the tanks is out the back of my base, without it's stealth.
7. Circus Clown - Disappeared.
8. Magician/Hypnotist - With the Clown.
9. Short-range EMP Generator - Having been combined with the Arc Caster
10. M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System - Short a missile, outside the base, inside the gate.

As new knowledge and skills flow through the collective, the Borg drones pause for a moment. Then they move around, grouping into five equal groups. Four of the groups begin reciting poetry, each group reciting a different poem in perfect unison.

Group 1
This group are all staring at billtodamax's base.


"The fierce spirit painfully endured hardship for a time,
He who dwelt in darkness ...
The grim spirit was called Grendel, a rover of the borders,
One who held the moors, fen and fastness ...
There came gliding in the black night the walker in darkness,
From the moor under the mist-hills Grendel came walking,
Wearing God's anger!"

A vast, hideous being forms just outside the base, thankfully shrouded in darkness for the most part. It begins to approach the walls.

Group 2

The penetrating Borg rangefinder lasers dance across bishfish's walls.


"Let our foes turn about and all look to the east,
Ere the dawn shall emerge from the dark;
For 'tis there will be found a most curious beast,
Best known as the fabulous snark.
But oh, beamish foeman, beware of the day,
If your Snark be a Boojum, for then
You will softly and suddenly vanish away,
And never be met with again!"

This spell takes a few minutes to set to work, but suddenly a fair amount of bishfish's forces vanish, silently and without warning.

Group 3

An unemotional stare observes Robert Blackletter's base.


"For our foeman, I am told,
All that glitters now is gold.
Oft a man his life hath sold
One doubloon but to enfold.
Monkish knights of virtue bold,
Swords and armor still may hold!

Robert Blackletter's troops cry out in horror as any metal on their persons or around them turns to gold. The doctor and Ben are especially hard-hit, with their precious machines becoming valuable but useless metal.

Group 4

Nehh's base seems to shrink from the cold observation of the Borg.


Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time.

Nehh's troops slow to a crawl, moving at perhaps half of their previous pace.

Group 5

This group begins to slice time, blurring with speed, and further subdivides. Each enemy base will have a few borg drones to contend with shortly.

Casualties
Bishfish: The forest creatures, Carrot and half the wolf puppies.

Army list
1065 Borg drones, including 51 juveniles (13 of which are time-slicing and moving towards enemy bases).
The Halicarnassus.
A Bio-weapon and starfleet technology (will be duplicated in 2 turns).

Wracktail, the fastest unit in the entire base, picks up a Paratroopa and a Bob-Omb and starts to climb into the air. Not as fast as usual: only about the speed of a train. He reaches a point out of bullet range and speaks to them.

"You take it from there. You know what to do."

Elsewhere:

Topmaniac positions himself just outside the base, in the view of the GAP. A selection of Ninjis are arranged around him.

"These things, apparently, appear in the dreams of players. You are players. Sweet dreams!"

8 ninjis mob the group, hitting them so they fall asleep. They drag them into the base.

Thank god i got my own magic user top help reverse the damage. with the doctor and stewie as well they should be able to repair the omitricks? Also how much of the tardis is metal? it a living ship (http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/TARDIS#Organic_machines.3F) so.... maybe able to.... Dang should be able to use it for scrap.

How much of the Omnitrix is metal? And do you have any method of trans-elemental conversion? That probably wouldn't have worked in-canon if it hadn't had 13 unified minds behind it, but those minds will mean that simply removing the magic will be much harder than it might otherwise be.

As for the TARDIS: again, how much of it is metal? And a much, much nastier question: how much of it glitters?

And finally: looks like I matched the spells up to the opponents pretty nicely. RB relies a lot on machinery, which just became heavy and useless, billtodamax doesn't even know what I threw at him, Nehh's speed has dropped to manageable levels, and the Boojum spell only worked in one direction, so I threw it that way. Hopefully you lot will be tied up in damage control for this turn, so that I can throw my real nasties out.

Omitricks material is never stated, as far as i can tell its a mix of many materials. so its out of action and may take a couple of turns to fix. (I doubt I last that long but!) or i could just......

Also has your spell did not affect living creatures (otherwise our bones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium)would be metal among other things) the tardis may not be affected or only partially?

Hang on i know what i can do to recover partially (at least to make my weapons non-useless as they are not machanical. just sharp buts of metal)

The drone, using its sensors, detects something in the center. it circles around and fires some missiles towards a large clump of ninjas, blowing most of them up. Rumo, also over there, runs towards the beast, dodging his attacks with his wolperting senses. he wounds him badly, distracting him from attacking.
At Nehh's base, the action figures are catching up to his troops because they are moving slower. the huge masses swarm them and they start falling over.

The doctor suddenly screamed as all the metal arounding him started turning shiny.
The tardis it dieing! Oh boop, i can feel it, Then looking at ben and seeing his watch going mad changing in to one form then an other. Oh I'm sooooo sorry ben, if i can convince the witch to save you i will but she only interested in power. Guys i would get the hell out of here when the tardis goes thwe vortex contained will do some pretty strange stuff to all within a mile. The witch may be able to do something but what i don't know. And with thathe runs out the room.


In Malignant room she can feel the massive enegery that have been release by spell that the machine creatures have just release, nothing that couldn't handle with time but she can sense there little of that left. And when the doctor runs in screaming about the time vortex and how the omitricks were going to exploed she knew that only the swans path layed open to her.

Doctor, stay with me, i will save this base and the little lives you value but I will not do so alone. A Lonely wander like you should understand. She said with a sad smile.

Casting the spell she energy from the time vortex, the omiletrixs and the left over residue from the spell cast by the hive mind she feels her power growing.

she gives up her corporal form in a release of energy that also kills doctor, and quickly absorbed his life energy and knowing that she onl;y has a littl;e time dose her work quickly. she telports stewie, jess, Custer and Castady, to the centre with the beast force. Sadly she is unable to do the same to the others in the base.

Floating above the battle she see the spread the force below her. The bigest threat to her forces are the borg and with that she starts ageing the borg drones until disintegration occurs. The first group she attacked is the group by her base which are wiped before there systems can adapted. the second the group by biltodamax loses half before there systems adapts, GRendal is saddly distroyied while she doing this. . Seeing them adapt she pores the majority of her energy that left and slows down there personally time to almost a crawl.

At Now they stands change as they need to cut time just to reach normal speed. Well onwards to peace And a little corner of her minds say Let make this good.

She release the final energy distroyuing everything within half a turn of the base as time itself is riped apart and reformed constanly around the base

All borg are even with slicing time moving at 50% speed, if they stop slicing then they almost seem to be standing still and if the slice any finer they are in danger of distroying them self.
Everything within half a turn of my base is constantly being riped apart and but back together so is also gone and that part of the battle field is effectivly gone as you are unable to travel it

Those few Borg that were timeslicing nearly shut down as they are effectively cut off from the collective. Their minds work at an incredible rate, even slowed as they are, before coming to a decision almost a minute later.

The curse begins gradually unravelling, ever so slowly. The active Borg turn, their next activities reprioritized. Using the psychic power spread throughout the collective, they focus on a series of targets, and let loose another storm of magic.

Billtodamax's magician and clown are suddenly literally heartless.

First thing first ben ten and the doctor were killed last turn so you may want to edit them out of your last post
Secondly while I understand you want to undo the damage I done I did kill off a. Sizeable portion of my army and used the energy of time itself to do that to you. The last time that happen the darleck were distroy and a new unoversal constant was created (saddly it was john barrowman) it should take more then one turn to recover. How about you regain 25% movement a turn starting next turn. So next turn you have sliced movement at 75% and unslice at 25%, thee turn after 100% and 50%? I am of course asuming that while sliceing. There only limited actions are possible.

[Out the front of my base, still behind the gate (which is miraculously intact)]

The clown suddenly appears out of midair in a flash of black. His eyes go wide and he falls, face forwards to the ground.

He lies there, for a few seconds.

Is he d- Eeheeheehee -ead?
He doesn't seem to be mo- HA HAAAA! Hahahahahaha! -ving.

Oh...

The clown rocks back to his feet, his body remaining completely straight as he pushes off from the ground.

Uh-oh! You got my heart! He says, clutching at the air and squeezing a couple of times, mimicking the beating of a live human heart. Oops-i-daisy! Your little rhymes backfire did they? EEHEE HEE HEE HEE HEE! The clown rocks back and forth as his mad speech and chilling laughter resonate through the entire arena.

Beside him, the magician appears out of the air, and slumps forwards, until his body stops when it hits the clown's hand, reached out to catch him.

Ooooo! You got the little card sharp! So smart with his sleight of hand and his funny little watch! What a funny man! The clown rocks the magician up, and turns him to face the clown, before the clown... steps into him, his form turning ethereal, before he steps into the body. The magician's face is gone now, replaced by the clown's twisted visage, however his clothes now adorn the clown.

Oh, but I know about funny! And I know about magic too, and your little robot tricks! Such silly tricks. I'm almost sad that witch killed your pet. Oh the fun I could have had with it! The clown looks almost downcast at this turn of events, however he quickly gets back to his horrifically happy self.

Still, all's for the best! The only other real threat is out of the way. HA! Threat! I could've taken her with a mere thought! Still, you were starting to concern me. But now I've seen what you try and do? Kill me by destroying my heart? HAH! HAHAHAHAHA! OOOOHOOHOOHEEHA! You don't have a chance! With your silly little rhymes and your little psionic attacks! HAHAHAHAHA! At this, the clown doubles over with laughter, slapping his knees with his freakish hands.

He suddenly stops, and his voice suddenly becomes deep, as it always does when he becomes serious.
You're playing with fire. He says. Try not to get... burnt.

Suddenly, at the last word, invisible flames spring into life all over the Borg sent to my base. The flames burn the Borg hideously, metal and flesh burning alike, as the old channels of fear and pain, so stale with disuse, suddenly carve fresh paths through the Borg's cyborg brains, their powerful mental link burning them all the same, the intense pain racing through their systems, jarring them in the activities they were engaged in, making them pause for fear of this horrific clown, and its terrible fires that seem to burn across even the Borg's circuits, long after the Borg approaching my base were consumed and destroyed.

The clown spreads his hands, and an impenetrable darkness drifts over my base, swirling with purple. As it encloses my base with a finality, everyone in that hellish place will find that no senses can pierce that wicked blackness, not psionics nor spells nor sound nor sight.

[THE LAB!]

Professor Xavier slowly sits up in his chair, shuddering.
I've been given a reprieve for a moment. Very well. He says. He quickly contacts a few choice people throughout the base with his telepathy.

In under five minutes a hole is knocked in the side of my base into the lab, through which comes Tyrannosaurus X and the Engineer driving the missile tank.

Got it. The engineer says, as he hops out of the tank, holding his fusion cutter in one hand. Just cut the supports? He asks, dubious.

Yes, although be careful you don't nick one of the missiles. Prof X says, as the Engineer carefully severs the bolts that connect the missile launching system to the tank.

Done and done, boss. He says, twirling his fusion cutter about in his right hand.

And Why, Pray, Am I Here, Noble Leader?! Tyrannosaurus X asks.

We're going to give you a bit of an upgrade. Excuse me, could you get up on top of the launcher system? He says to the engineer, who begrudgingly climbs atop the detached missile launcher. Professor X puts his fingers to his temples and concentrates, and the MLRS lifts off the tank, moving towards the Dinosaur.

Woah, what the hell?! The Engineer shouts, clinging to the MLRS. It stops hovering slightly above Tyrannosaurus X, and the Engineer feels a presence within his mind.

Be completely calm. I'm going to take control of your body for a moment and guide you through the process of attaching the system. He says, gently taking control over the engineer's movements. He calmly climbs down from the MLRS and whips out his fusion cutter, starting to cut into the uncomplaining Tyrannosaurus X.

Eventually the Professor, working through a fairly spooked engineer, has the missile system attached to the back of Tyrannosaurus X.

DINO-TASTIC! He cries, striking a heroic pose.

The Imperial Officer, the Scout trooper, and the Dark trooper are found in the hall, lying on the ground, dead, their faces having turned completely smooth, their features gone.

4. Tyrannosaurus X and Dinomite - X is in the Lab with the rocket system attached to his back, while Dinomite is behind my gate, guarding.

All Borg now have pain receptors that respond only to fire, and can feel fear, all of them being significantly afraid of the clown.
The Imperial Officer, the Scout trooper, and the Dark trooper have appeared dead in the halls in the same mysterious circumstances as the Stormtrooper.

General happenings that people should probably read:
My base in covered by a deep darkness, which, while looking completely solid (and indeed, all senses will perceive it as such), is in fact only centimetres thick, and on the other side of my base it's as bright as it is anywhere else in the field. It blocks all supernatural attacks, and no senses can pierce it. Anything physical can simply walk through it, but will experience a minor feeling of dread and fear as they do so.

Tyrannosaurus X has gotten a DINOTASTIC upgrade.

The clown and the magician and now the same entity, mainly for the purpose of freaking people out.

I realise, now, that I haven't taken many casualties (indeed, most of them are self-inflicted). Trust me, this is not a state of affairs that will continue, as I'm going to do lots of crazy **** in my next post, which will likely result in my death. If you want me to change this post further so that I take more casualties, I'd be happy to.

In other news, are people being freaked out by the clown or not? Have they guessed what's going on with the mysterious disappearances? Does anyone have an idea of what my plan to deal with the Borg is? (It isn't with the clown.)

The airborne Koopa Paratroopa reaches the top of its flight and bats the Bob-omb downwards, flying down and pushing behind it to pick up speed. They fall, spinning, downwards, still going incredibly fast despite the slowing effect.

They land in random_person's base. Bob-omb first.

Boom.

Or rather, BOOM! Things going that fast don't explode quietly.

Facing the overwhelming attack of Borg timeshifters and action figures, Topmaniac tries a different strategy. The troops shake the action figures off, and climb onto Topmaniac. Any figures tying to climb up to them will be shredded by the spinning blades. Wracktail dives down and eats one Borg before deciding it too dangerous and returning to the main base. When he gets there, his eyes suddenly turn green and spin.

Virus detected. Debug mode initiated.
Reading virus.
Virus contained. Destroy virus?
Command: describe virus. Virus causes mechanical improvements whilst bending the afflicted creature's will to the will of one large hivemind.
Command: break link to hivemind. Initiated. Loading. Loading. Done.
Command: infect troops.

All the surviving troops gain Borg-like nanotechnology, but without becominvg drones and serving the hivemind.

The surviving Borg consider again, and then make a decision. The psychic energies that they acquired from the telepath they assimilated are focused, channelled, andd directed into Nehh's troops. The firewall is almost enough, but the sheer psychic energy breaks through it in a matter of seconds. The Borg hivemind is now flitting through Nehh's troops, resurging and reclaiming wherever it is pushed back, as well as dwelling in the original Borg drones.
