So, I figure 4e wild talents are going to be handled by multiclassing into a psionic class... take the feat to be a multiclass Ardent and you have some minor psychic powers.

Assuming this is true, how would this work with multiclass characters? I've been given to understand there's not really any such thing as an encounter power for psionicists... just that you enhance you dailies.

Any thoughts on Wild Talents in 4e?

Characters who multiclass are already splitting resources between two separate character angles. Throwing in a third would be a major dilution of focus. If you absolutely must I'd base a feat off the half-elf's Dilettante ability, but I'd advise against it.

What would probably work better is the equivalent for a character who wants to have a bit of magic without sacrificing their multiclass. Either take Ritual Caster with the appropriate flavor, or homebrew a feat that allows a character to dip discipline focus powers in the same way that people have homebrewed feats to let people dip cantrips.
