Given a gnome's ability speak with burrowing mammals, and the fact that Illusion seems like the school closest to stage magic, I wonder whether an adorable bunny would be the most appropriate familiar, provided that one could find the stats for such a thing.

Gnomes also get prestidigitation as a spell-like ability, which is pretty much arcanised stage magic.
