Well, recently I have noticed that there seems to be what I can only describe as 'searing' on my moniter. As it objects displayed on my moniter will leave a sort of blurred shadow for an inch or two to the right of itself. It is most noticeable when there is a large contrast, as in a white piece of text on a black background. The problem has bee around for a while but recently it has gotten a lot worse.

Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? How to solve the problem? Or is my moniter just broken?

Some screenshots to illustrate my problem:

I could be blind, but those screenshots look fine to me.

What type of monitor do you have? If it's a CRT, the electron gun could be off, but no matter what I'd try hooking up a different monitor (preferably on loan from another computer rather than buying a new one) and see if that fixes it.

Of course they would be, since a screenshot is reading from video memory and doesn't care how the monitor is displaying it. You'd have to take a photograph of your monitor to get us to see what you're seeing, and for all I know even that is tricky. (I know it's hard to take a photograph of a television screen.)

Not to be unhelpful, but, I know this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135059) fell off the first page for lack of usage, but really, it's a good idea so try to post there instead of making four to five threads per day* on this topic.

*There are 7 of these on page one right now. Let's try to consolidate, okay?
