*pokes head in*

Not to be a party-pooper Mav, but both Sudden Empower and Sudden Maximize require that you have another metamagic feat as a pre-req.

Man, I need stop building characters at 3 in the morning. I was thinking eschew was a metamagic. I'll have to switch that to widen or something.

Thanks for the heads up.

So should you just re-post your turn then sans a Sudden Maximized/Sudden Empowered spell?

Mavian
2009-12-29, 03:23 PM
Yeah, I'll just be a regular sunstroke.

Damage: [roll0] still need the fatigue save though

Ok.
Fort Save:
[roll0]

"Grr...you litle devil! I'll get you for that!"

Move to I9. Make single attack

Mavian

You can't edit rolls, and you can't roll in an edit.

So if you mess something up, the roller makes it so you have to re-post.

"Take that you mongrel!"

Mavian

Attempt to cast defensively:
[roll0], if this fails, you get you AoO, well, that was lucky.

Casting another sunstroke.
Damage: [roll1] That totals 14 non-lethal, which is greater than you hitpoints, so you fall unconsious. And now my dog gets to eat you.

*facepalm and sigh*

Ah well...
at least my Soulborn works. I attribute this loss to bad dice rolls.

Maybe I should be a bit liberal with the use of the Smite Opposition next time. Would have gotten you, too.

Well, to be honest... my build is broken until I fix his feats. If I hadn't been asleep when I built him, you'd have taken a maximized, empowered sunstroke for a bunch.

Well, broken build aside, let's dissect that last hit I made if I had put a Smite Opposition on it.

If you look at Aeochromine's character sheet, I have an incarnum feat called Sapphire Smite. Sapphire Smite (Magic of Incarnum 40) allows me to invest essentia into my Smite Opposition ability. It increases the damage dealt by +1 per point of essentia.

Smite Opposition basically functions like Smite Whatever, but it allows me to smite anything of differing alignment on the opposite extreme of the spectrum (I can smite you because you're Chaotic, and I couls still smite you is you were NG, my target doesn't need to be CG).

That hit would have dealt 7 damage. Not enough to kill you, but quite a high amount of damage.

Oh, and I just found that the feat also increases the number of times I can use my Smite *evil grin*.

Hey, I don't get a Soulmeld until 4th level, so if I have essentia, I gotta put into something, and one big blow is a good thing to do--if I don't have anything that I can do with my essentia, it sits like a bumb on a log...can't do something like a Psionic Focus or anything.

Also, and I think this should be made very specific in the Arena rules, I clobbered you when I dealt those 4 points of damage, which is half your health. Was this taken into account during our battle?

Yeah, but 18 points of non-lethal will take down almost anyone, with no save or miss chance :smallwink:
