Well, he did take a goat herding class at Fighter College.

Makes about as much sense as anything I can think of. Speaking of this strip, doesn't Roy declaring that if he could actually purchase a weapon he would stab the shopkeeper with it reveal that he is kind of short-tempered?

Short tempered would imply that was short :smalltongue:

Its kind of hard to tell how long that took, since its a comic strip.

Never saw that sketch before. Mystery solved!

Even the animals are a subtle reference to another sketch. There's nothing to really take seriously there... Though, Roy generally is short-tempered with his tongue.

What we need now is V trying to buy a license for his pet raven Eric Blackwing.

No. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnq96W9jtuw) is what I mean.

Although the problem with putting V in these sketches is that he'll just go "say hello to the 10d6 fireball!".

I've always considered Roy's special talent to be his ability to work with Elan and Belkar without strangling one of them in their sleep.

And generally get them to both actually (sort of) almost do what he was trying to get them to do.

That's the old V. New V will be like 'Say hello to Haste and Inflict Minor Wounds'.

Really? This would be 10d6 at V's caster level. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0677.html)

Yeah, apparently Roy has a decent Charisma score, giving him naturally high modifiers for Diplomacy, Bluff, and even Handle Animal. He could have been a Wizard if he really wanted to, but he went Fighter because he hated his dad. He might even have some ranks in Diplomacy. All in all, this makes him a good party leader.

However, as already mentioned, the strip in question is the Monty Python Cheese Sketch (drifting into a Dead Parrot Sketch,) so you can't read too deeply into it.

1 damage, actually. And it's a divine spell, so V can't cast it anyway.

I think it drifts into the spam sketch, not dead parrot sketch.

There's never been any indication that Vaarsuvius knows Limited Wish, though.

V was just listing really powerful spells to see if Zz'Drti would be willing to trade for anything. V's unlikely to actually have those spells, given that the rarity of really high-level casters means they'd be hard to come by.

No, a short-tempered person would have punched the guy around half-way the strip.
