Did anyone buy Dragon Age RPG, Set 1 by Green Ronin yet? If anyone has, is it any good? Does it contain a lot of setting information? Does it at least say what the order of noble titles is?

I think this topic refers to the tabletop game, not the computer game.

Anywho, I haven't heard too much about it. Though the cover of the player's handbook looks attractive enough. Yeah, that's about my extent on that.

I have heard the combat system is a bit cumbersome, but it is certainly an interesting marketing move. I hope it turns out to be more successful than the various D20/3e World of Warcraft tabletop adventure games.

I haven't played it yet, but I do not have high hopes for it. Generally video games are designed as such and have too much to keep track of, if you're not a computer.

The RPG is quite different from the computer game counterpart, actually, keeping only a few of the mechanics and replacing the rest.

Also, I disagree with that linked thread, since Dragon Age is an awesome game (the computer one, not the tabletop one).

This discussion of the Dragon Age (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=39438&start=60) pen and paper adventure game over at Dragonsfoot might be of interest to you.

I've heard good things about it. Some of the people over on RPGBloggers (http://rpgbloggers.com) had reviews.

I like it. I was kind of expecting D&D with the serial numbers filed off. Instead it's more like... actually I don't really know what it's like.

You could run it like D&D but... what's the point. There's already D&D.

Not really interested in this one.

I've not heard much spectacular about the game, so I dunno.

Just got the first few pdf's.

I hope to get a group to play through the Dalish Curse module soon to test it once through.

Here are my issues I've run into (maybe someone has answers?). Maybe I missed these on my first read through...

1. No idea how to balance encounters and have found no equivalent to a CR system to judge

2. No real idea yet what loot balances per encounter/level. Did not see a suggested WBL chart.

I'd say the Player guide was laid out and easy to follow, but I found the GM guide seemed to spin off on tangents. Not always logical flow to the chapters/explanations (maybe just me)

Is WBL and CR expected in a later release?
