Thread Locks and Posting

How do the rules touch on posting in threads that have been declared locked, but haven't actually been locked yet?

I ask because I posted in the Avatar thread after Roland declared it locked, but didn't lock it, commenting on the lack of lockage. A bit later, the thread was actually locked and my post had been deleted.

I'm afraid I might have done something wrong.

Nope, nothing wrong on your part. (Though a PM or post report is more effective than posting. I'm unlikely to check back on a thread I think I've locked. :smallamused: )

I just didn't check the "lock" button when posting. I corrected that by locking the thread and moving the posts that cropped up to mention my omission. The only error was my initial oversight.

(When you do "something wrong," you get a PM about it - in fancy red text. Absent that, carry on. :smallsmile:)
