1. I would suppose that warblade would be your best bet, though crusader would work fine as well. It sort of depends upon your choice of flavor. I would shy away from the swordsage with its 3/4 BAB and considerable level of MAD.

2. For a cap PrC it wouldn't really matter all that much so long as it has full casting progression. Some of the more typical gish dips may be useful like spellsword. If you go dwarf crusader you should dip into rune smith from races of stone for casting in full plate.

Also, if you are taking swiftblade, I would strongly suggest that you take levels of wizard on the other side of gestalt for the levels in which you don't receive a +1 caaster.

hmm.. i noticed a thing

using the factotum class feature to ignore spell resistance when using other class spellcasting is too cheesy?

I second the Warblade, it has the best HD, full bab and it is somewhat Int based and I am sure you will want the most synergy possibly and it covers the weapon proficiecies (sp) needed for Swiftblade

I also second taking wizard levels on the other side when Swiftblade don't (or at least one to get the capstone of Swiftblade and lvl 9 spell)

I sugest using the ACF (found in UA and the SRD) that gets you fighter bonus feats to get the swiftblades pre-requisites

Fatespinner is fine...for the first four levels. You're almost invariably better dipping something else than finishing it, though.

I approve this idea.

Otherwise, I'd probably lean toward Swordsage with a few Warblade dips.
Wizard provides enough raw active power for you to rely on.
That means you don't need to close to melee range.
Use Swordsage and Warblade primarily for counters and stances.
Add a slew of utility maneuvers (Mountain Hammer, Teleportation maneuvers).

I prefer Swordsage because it:
--Provides more skill points than WB
--Can ready more maneuvers than WB (spending a round recharging the WB means spending a round in melee range or wasting the action)
--Knows more higher-level maneuvers than WB
--Has access to more reactive maneuvers
--Potentially provides a very nice boost with Kung Fu Genius or Carmendine Monk (depending on DM)

Dipping Warblade gives the majority of the WB's Fortitude increase, an Increased Reflex save (probably the most relevant of the "Combat X" abilities) and access to several Iron Heart Maneuvers (say, Wall of Blades and Iron Heart Surge).
