Hello!

I recently browsed through the appendixes of the 3.5 ed. Magic Item Compendium and I must say that some things puzzle me.

I'm having problems determining the market price of an item that says: price +1 bonus (and the like).

For example, a weapon with Screaming p.42 gets the following tag:
Price: +1 bonus.
That is what puzzles me.. what is the worth of that +1?

I know that in the original DMG there is a small chart to tell the gp value of such bonuses but I can't seem to find it in the compendium.. The closest thing I get is the chart on p.226 which is confusing me more than helping me.

Many thanks ,

Weapon: 2000 x (Sum of bonuses)^2.

So a +1 Screaming Longsword would be 2000 x (1+1)^2 = 8000.

Further information can be found in the DMG or SRD, whichever is more convenient for you.

Okay! Many thanks..
But where do you get that formula? And does it still work with compendium? Because it says that many prices have been reworked.

Thanks again ;)

There's a table in the SRD under the section on magic weapons.

Ninja'd! But at least I put the table on here. :smalltongue:

The table here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm) is more directly focused on weapons and equivalence bonuses. The table Temotei linked to is more for crafting magic items in general.

Thanks to everyone,

So now I know that the 7-9 table in DMG is still valid and you showed me where the formula is (I always want to know where it is in the books but still I got the links.. many thanks again)

Table 7–9: Weapons lists the weapon magic enhancement price without formula; that's on page 222 of the 3.5 Dungeon Master's Guide. Table 7–33: Estimating Magic Item Gold Piece Values is on page 285. "Weapon bonus (enhancement)" formula is the 11th effect listed.
