Is it acceptable to set pages to automatically reload?

Would setting a web browser to automatically reload the user control panel every few minutes cause any issues?

The main reason I'm asking is that it makes checking threads a little easier than using the e-mail notification.

As far as I can tell, there shouldn't be a problem unless it's set to a ridiculously high frequency, but I wanted to check that the mods didn't mind before actually using it.

I would ask you not to do that, please. I guess if the browser checked less often than you would check manually, that seems good, but given that it will make its checks ceaselessly, I think it's a net drain. And, of course, the concern isn't one user doing it so much as the potential for many to do so.

If Rawhide shows up and says it's fine that's another matter, but it seems to me like technological trouble.
