His hat is gone! My brother lost his hat to the gophers, he thinks, in world 6-3 or 4, whichever had the Yoshis. It will return after he dies, but only for a bit. It gets annoying, because his hair is ugly. Any idea how to find it? Because I'm reminded of losing it in Mario 64, and it has to be somewhere.

From what I can figure, it's an easter egg that happens when he has 99 lives. If this isn't the case I'll get back to searching.

Good luck finding 2 people who can play competently together to get the lives up that high, though.

I've heard that it only works with Mario, not Luigi or the Toads.

I'm pretty sure CapedLuigiYoshi is correct as both me and my sister are competent enough to get to 99 lives and it was only Mario that went hatless.

Same. It was sad. I was angry and frustrated that Luigi's hair wasn't showing.
