Level Adjustment ?

You see a silvery dragon with wings that are large for its size. It has tendrils behind its neck and fanned ears. A fan runs down its back.

Argent dragons are dragons who have linked their magic with the forest and the fey that live there. This has resulted in their magic becoming different from a typical dragon’s and far more like that of a warlock. This bond to nature and the fey has made them protective of nature, yet like the fey they are flighty and unpredictable. They enjoy exploring their forest, using woodland stride to easily pass through overgrown areas and fell flight to increase their aerial manoeuvrability. On hatching, they have dark grey scales which lighten and develop their shine as they get older. The older dragons will darken again eventually becoming almost black. Argent dragons often spend long periods of time as fey using their alternate form ability. Argent dragons are omnivorous but eat more plant matter than typical of dragons.

Combat

Argent dragons typically avoid combat, preferring to parley and “encourage” trespassers to leave. When they do fight they use their spell-like abilities, invocations and breath weapon as much as possible, attempting to gain any advantage in combat. They will use melee attacks, but if they can win the fight while avoiding coming near enough to be injured, so much the better. An argent dragon's natural weapons are treated as silver for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Uncanny presence (Su): Instead of a frightful presence, argent dragons have an uncanny presence in which everything seems slightly wrong. It acts as a frightful presence except that those who would be panicked are instead nauseated (in which case, this is not a fear effect). Anything that is immune to a dragon’s frightful presence is also immune to this presence.

Invocations: Instead of learning spells as a sorcerer, the argent dragon knows and casts Invocations as a warlock of the level indicated in the table, save DCs are charisma based. Argent Dragons can also gain Invocations from the Dragon Fire Adept List. They may apply eldritch essence and blast shape invocations to their breath weapon but they do not learn dragonfire adept breath effects.

Breath weapon (Su): An argent dragon’s breath weapon is an eldritch blast, unlike normal breath weapons, it is a ray of the same range as a line breath weapon and is subject to spell resistance, but blast shape and eldritch essence invocations can be applied to it. Any blast shape invocations said to have a range of 60 ft. do not change the range of the breath weapon. Eldritch glaive (Dragon Magic) forms the glaive in the dragon’s mouth. Eldritch spear quadruples the range. Hideous blow uses the dragon’s bite attack. Eldritch cone turns it into a cone breath weapon.

Alternate form (Su): An argent dragon may assume the form of a humanoid, animal or fey of medium size or smaller and return to normal up to three times per day. The dragon can remain in its alternate form until it wishes to adopt a new form or return to its normal form.

Woodland stride (Su): An adult argent dragon gains the woodland stride ability as though it was a druid.

Other Spell-like Abilities: At will – Speak with animals, at will - Pass without a trace (juvenile or older); 1/day - Plant growth (old or older); 1/day - Control weather (ancient or older), at will – Command plants (great wyrm)

Skills: Bluff, spellcraft and survival are class skills for argent dragons.

Ok, this is my promised warlock-based dragon. Thank you to Tackyhillbillu for providing a name. Any advice or comments is appreciated.

Reserved in case I need it as dragons often require extra stuff.

Allow them to pick from the DFA stuff as well (seeing as how normal dragons get cleric spells)

DFA? Sorry, not recognising the acronym.

Dragon Fire Adept (Dragon Magic). I think the only other first party Invoker class.

I agree with this.

Also, its breath weapon is rather similar to the Purple Dragon's, in that it has a transmutable form (though with this it uses invocations).

Does the breath weapon still have a 1d4 round recharge time?

Oh. Alright. I must admit that makes the fluff seem ridiculously meta and circular: “This dragon has the power to copy people who have the power to copy dragons.” I find that hilarious. Still, I like it anyway and if it’s needed mechanically, so be it. Still I don’t think that it should get DFA breath effect invocations.

I had intended to make it still have the recharge time, but I'm open to suggestions.

EDIT: Added the fact that their natural weapons count as silver for overcoming DR.

The wording isn't that good (they get are a gestalt DFA/Warlock with the current wording). I'd use something like

"Argent Dragon knows and casts Invocations as a warlock of the level indicated in the table, save DCs are charisma based. Argent Dragons can also gain Invocations from the Dragon Fire Adept List" (I think Warlocks didn't "cast", but that isn't the point)

Made closer to your suggestion.
