What are the major consequences of a house rule for AoOs so that they grant a full attack rather than a single melee attack?
Maybe a full attack made at a -2 penalty?

Too much, no point, or somewhere in between?

Well, this means that Reach fighters are even better: it's pretty easy to get AOO's, plus feats like Rolibar's Gambit/Karmic Strike, which give you AOO's when you're attacked.

An attack of opportunity represents a very small window of time an enemy is vulnerable to attack.

A full attack takes 4 - 6 seconds (free actions, 5-foot steps, etc.)

Four to six seconds is a long time in a fight to be open to attack.

Of course, if you went with that penalty and you said they were limited by the amount of attacks of opportunity they could make in a round still, that wouldn't be so bad...

Aren't there feats to allow more attacks per opportunity?

Dragon Magazine has a few that allow successive AoOs at increasing penalties and eating more of your per-turn AoOs.

It's possible, but difficult, to gain a full attack on an AoO, within RAW.

My method involves shadowpounce.

The main problem with a rule like that is it just wouldn't make any sense.

It also introduces balance issues, as it heavily boosts specific builds. IE, those builds already considered best, being focused around reach weapons.

Get Double Hit feat. Does pretty much the same without bending the rules...
