"This is... not good." The old woman muttered to herself as yet another tree smashed trunk first into the ground. He stood on top of a hill overlooking the glade below, where men with big heavy working axes efficiently chopped away at the lumber. Hes body was sagged and hunched, and hes hair was white, but she was dressed in elegant clothes and her gaze was clear and forceful. At this moment, it was studying the scene below with a mix of worry and contempt.
"Not good at all." Turning on her heel, the old woman slowly hobbled off down the hill again. This was the third week. Three weeks of methodically felling the magical forest, working all bright hours of the day. She didn't know what it meant, but she was sure it would end in disaster.
Reaching her cottage, she sat down to write a letter.
Two days later, this poster could be found all over the nearby countryside:
HELP WANTED!
Hiring a number of multitalented and resourceful indivuiduals to help maintain my property, and saving the intricate balance of life and reality. Tasks will include tending and caring for the grounds, protecting the perimeter and investigating the source of any intrusions.
Some heavy lifting may be requied.
Payment according to agreement.
Please apply at the small cottage (currently) at the edge of the forest.
