You awaken in the center of a 10ft by 15ft room with stone walls, ceilings, and floors. A torch is burning on the wall behind you, while the other three walls have closed, metal doors with brackets allowing you to bar them from the inside. Unfortunately, only two metal rods are lying on the floor.

Halen stands up quickly, senses alert. He bars the doors to the south and east, then walks over to final door and examines it, frowning.

He puts his ear against the door and listens for any noise.

The door opens outward, yes?

Yeah, doors all open the way they appear.

You hear some noises beyond, sounds like talking, though too low for you to make the words, or even the language. There's also a faint crackling noise.

Ah, too bad.

In that case, Halen draws his rapier, eases the door open a crack, and peers through.

You enter a 10ft wide room, 30 ft long, with another wooden door on the far side. In the room is four kobolds(F1, E1, E2, C2). A small fire is flickering on the floor(D2). You have surprise.

Well, Halen's a gnome, so no mercy for kobolds. :smallamused:

Assuming that they haven't noticed him yet, Halen darts into the room and attacks the kobold in F1.

Oh, right, you said I have surprise... in that case, here's initiative for the next round.

Initiative: [roll0]

The first kobold falls swiftly, and the rest, taken unawares, react too slowly to prevent you from striking again before they move.

Init(north to south):
[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]

All right, then, Halen jumps over the body of the first kobold as it falls and aims a thrust for the neck of the one behind it (E1).

By the way, I forgot earlier, but I get +1 to attack against kobolds.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Sneak Attack: [roll2]

That +1 definitely is handy here. You strike the kobold, dropping him as well. The remaining two start chattering nervously in draconic as they strike back.

In front:
Spear:[roll0]
Dmg:[roll1]

In back:
Sling:[roll2] +4 AC against this attack, due to being in melee.
Dmg:[roll3]

Let's see if I can finish them off, then... Halen moves to his right to put the goblin in E2 between him and the slinger, and makes another attack with his rapier.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

You take the last melee kobold down, and the slinger worriedly chucks another bullet at you, hoping to get lucky.

Sling: [roll0]

After nimbly avoiding the sling bullet, Halen runs forward, bringing his rapier up low and to the right to attack the last kobold in C2.

He is smiling. It shows a disturbing amount of teeth.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
