I'm interested in knowing what the majority preference here in character sheets are for AD&D 2e and D&D 3.0, 3.5, and 4E is. More specifically, I'm looking for nonautomated character sheets only, character sheets that are designed specifically for print & pencils.

Specifically, a link to your preferred sheets if available (or a quick way to find them, such as "the sheets in the back of the 3.5 PHB") would be helpful and a description of why you prefer it. "I like a lot of working room for HP and the equations on the sheet".

So, any related opinions would be welcome.

Addendum, other specific questions:
Do you ever really feel like the usual "Campaign" space is necessary/useful?
Specifically, I see people occasionally use it, but, never seemingly 'need' it. Or is this assumption wrong?

I have a pile of houserules that amount to nothing more than "Oh, don't worry about that". This includes most precision in movement, encumberance, cross class skills, and a number of other little things.

So, I made a character sheet. I don't think I have any copies on the interwebs (but if you really want one, it's available). It's not specifically designed for much, but it's split into 3 sections. A personal section, including Deity, name, backstory elements, alignment, etc. It has a base stats section, which has the stats, AC, ECL, HD (just in case), BAB, saves, and (on the side) room for information about attacks or saving throws. Then, it has a other section. This has all the stats lined up (with 4 collums: ranks, stat bonus, circumstance bonus, and total), and a big open spot for inventory. I also have a section for up to 14 feats.

I usually go with the standard sheets in the book. I want other players and GM to find it easy to read if they ever have to use my character.

I eventually made an alternative 3.5 sheet. It's based on the original one, so it's still easily read, but adds extra slots for assorted bonuses. I had an epic wizard who had more weird bonuses than I had slots to put them in. Half of these were invented by the GM. But the basic character sheet didn't have room. There are extra slots for bonuses of unspecified type for stats, AC, saves, and skills. Feats were moved to the front page. Spell list was eliminated (because it's way too puny for any real caster). There are slots for teach type of item worn. There's more space for HP (which you indicated you wanted). Oh and touch and flatfooted AC indicate what bonuses are omitted.

The downside to the sheet is that the attacks area is cut back drastically. I never had much use for it, but if you have more than a few kinds of attacks and you don't like doing mental math this sheet will not help. Also, because the original sheet was converted to svg some detail was lost in conversion. On screen some of the lines look like a series of dashes. I can assure you that it looks fine in print though. http://files.sagotsky.com/valadils_char_sheet-RC2.pdf

I use these (http://www.mad-irishman.net/) or these (http://code.google.com/p/charactersheets/) exclusively. The level of detail in both is, to me, the self-evident reason to choose them.

I swear by the old 3.0 character sheet. The one that doesn't have any skills listed and has a notes section on the back. I hate using any other sheet.

Its still on the wizards site, somewhere. I just need to find it.

Those were linked by Amphetryon first actually. :smalltongue:
Thank you.
It seems that the current strongest calling is "detail, detail, detail!". Any more, even simple "agreeing" or "disagreeing" opinions would be helpful here.

I build my own using a Word file. I find I end up with a much better result, and since it's mostly white space it's easier on the eye than one with lots of boxes.
