I've been looking for a store that still carries 3.5 sourcebooks, particularly Frostburn, but so far haven't had much luck. Admittedly I could just order it online, but I'd rather be able to read through it the second I hand over the cash.

So do any of you know of stores that still carry 3.5?

I bought Frostburn online last month, and it was delivered, according to the post office, but I never got to see it. I am seriously bummed. I don't know if I want to shell out another 30-40 bucks to get it again.

That only reinforces my desire to obtain it from a store. It's faster, and it doesn't get lost in transfer.

Do you have any used book stores in your area? If so, might be worth a look.

It's rare here, sadly. Our d&d supply store cleared them all out and replace them with 4th edition. Lucky, we own basically 98% of 3.5 books anyway's and have two PHBs.

The only one I know of is Half-Price Books, where I bought Libris Mortis. In fact, I'd gone there looking for Frostburn in the first place. I simply didn't want to leave empty-handed. They have a selection of 3.5, but not the one I'm looking for.

Half-Price Books, if they have any locations in your area, is a great place to pick up 3rd edition stuff. I've snagged at least half a dozen titles from my local stores in the past six months.

Amen brother, amen. I have 3 or 4 Half-Price's in my city, and I check them all about once a month or so. There's always a steady rotation of books.

Given that they're the only place I've found and 3.5 AT ALL lately, I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.

My local Barnes and Noble still had a few forlorn copies of 3.5 material (mostly Elder Evils and Drow of the Underdark) last I looked, shoved on the edge of all the 4E stuff.

Check clearance aisle of your local hobby or comic book shop.
Cuz of them, I've got access to like 3 copies of sandstorm and elder evils.

I've been to minneapolis, and last I checked, the source (http://www.citypages.com/bestof/2009/award/best-game-store-876379/) still carried some 3.5 material in the middle of the store, next to the 4e stuff.

this is also true. and of course, there's amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0786928964/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all) if necessary. just pick a highly rated seller. there's even one that ships from minnesota!

Can't you just buy a PDF?

I haven't seen any. The one comic/hobby store I know of anywhere near me didn't have 3.5 core when I asked months ago, so I doubt they have anything worth having now. Borders wasn't any help either; all they had was the Book of Erotic Fantasy.

I live in the Philippines. @_@ There is only one chain of gaming stores here that still carries 3.x, and everything is at 60% off. The problem is their selection is dwindling. Stores do not have uniform stock.

I did manage to find a lot of books in Singapore when I went there last April.

My dad checked the Source around Christmas and they said they didn't stock 3.5 anymore.

As for those recommending Amazon, I specifically posted this thread becasue I DIDN'T want to use Amazon. I prefer to get the book in my hands at the same time my money leaves it, thanks.

As for the PDFs, I only use meatspace books. Don't ask why, petty things like "logic" don't come into play. It's personal taste.

Couldn't you print and bind the book once you have a pdf at an office max?

On topic, I think Barnes and Nobles still had 3.5.

What did I say about logic? Besides, the printed stuff would be on lower quality paper, and not hardcover. Aesthetics get really irrational, but damn if they're not important.

Nope. That's the first place I looked.

Did this and got the DMG, Complete Warrior, Complete Psionic and Complete Arcane for under $100, but your results may vary.

The last 3.5 book I ever found in B&N was the ebberon campaign setting...
Anyway, do whatever the others are telling you.

which barnes and noble did you check? there's like 5 in the twin cities, and they often also sell them in the clearance section.

I had them check their online database. They said they stopped carrying them entirely after 4e came out.

MN bro here.
There's a gaming shop in Minnetonka called Dreamers, I only get out there every two months or so but they usually have a nice bit of 3.5 left. They might have it.

Big Box office stores like that charge far too much for this service. *If* you can get them to actually print the document in question. They are absolutely *terrified* of copy right infringement. So they will most likely simply refuse to print the item. I ran into this problem so often I finally bought my own duplex printer. They wanted $25 to print a 350 page document (175 pages, double sided copies) and bind it. The binding costs $3.49 to do. I can print out those pages for less than 2 cents each. Twenty-five dollars is asking way too much. A single $40 toner cartridge will print up 8000 pages at my house.

Regardless, this isn't going to be the same quality as a hard covered book.

I've been picking up various 3.5 supplements from various Amazon store fronts. A lot of them won't ship internationally though. And highly sought after books (PHB, Spell Compendium etc.) have just plain ridiculously inflated prices...
