The bracers of relentless might cost 4,384,000 gp.

Q 140

The bracers of relentless might (epic wondrous items) cost 4,384,000 gp.

If I cut down the enhancement bonuses to +6/+6, will the price be changed to 1,572,000 gp?

Probably much cheaper. As of MIC, you can add +6 enhancement bonus for str and con to existing magic items at no extra charge (beyond that they cost). While arms are not considered an associated slot for con, it still sounds feasible, so I assume your DM waives this limitation.

I am not sure how the price of the item is calculated, but if we assume 1.5*(1440000x2) = 4,320,000, this means the primary benefit is just 64000gp.

So the final cost should be 72000+64000 = 136,000gp, not enough to trigger epic pricing.

Q 141 I guess

So the increase of size bonus for the purpose of opposed combat checks is 64,000 gp?

So the questions are now:

How much does an item increasing your effective size modifiers for opposed combat rolls by two size categories cost?
How much does the same item cost when +6 Str/+6 Con is added?

Guesses so far (gp):

230,000 +
95,000 ++++
30,000-64,000 +

DM has agreed to 95,000 gp. I'd still like feedback if you have any.

A custom Universal item of Expansion at manifester level 7 (augmented to two size expansions) would cost 14k. Seems cheap. If you treat that as a level 4 power, the price goes up to 56k. Still seems a bit cheap.

Note that this isn't for a size increase. It's for size increase bonuses for opposed combat checks only.

Although, that does help. Thank you.

Ohh, I bet there's a stance or two in ToB that would give you those benefits. Can you get magic items that give you stances?

Do they exist? If so, I'm sure I can.

Alas, there are only items that grant maneuvers.

The real question is, how much should a moderately optimized melee character be willing to pay for these nerfed Bracers of Relentless Might? That's how much they should cost.

I'm guessing something along the lines of 230,000 gp.

Is that with the Strength and Constitution bonuses, or just the standalone size bonus (for the purpose of opposed combat rolls)?

Stances are maneuvers too.

Something that casts Heroics (Martial Stance:any stance)?

Only if you have a maneuver already. The items would likely count, but why not just put the stance in them?

Does anyone have any guesses on the price then?

So far (gp):

95,000
30,000-64,000

The question is, what is the price of +8 size bonus to opposed checks?

That item, if you dissect it, says that the two size increases on opposed checks is worth 64k. (the math is in Simple Q/A)

An item of continuous Expansion augmented for two size increases costs 56k. Now take away the reach. (the AC/Attack and Hide/Intimidate and Str/Dex all balance out). What should two size increases worth of reach cost? I know it'll cost you about 3 or 4 feats. A&EG says a feat is worth ~10k. Which means that, if you create this item by Expansion, it should only cost ~34k-46k! That's half price!

Or maybe this acts as a Jotunbrud twice? Well, as said before, a feat is worth ~10k. Two of them cheating to make then stack? Say that adds 50%. That is ~30k.

There is no definitive answer because there is no consistency on Wizard's part.

That's into the Epic Pricing rules. My best guess? 95K. Here's the math:

2 +6 items: 36K each, total 72K.
2 Items that grant a Martial Maneuver: 18K (9K each) (IIRC)
Stacking benefits: +5k.

Don't items that grant maneuvers cost 3,000?

Depends on the level of the maneuver.

EDIT: I think Sinfire's prices are the most fair ones.

Yeah...I can't find 9,000 anywhere, but 95,000 sounds about right.

Still, I'd like more, if you have anything to offer.

Thanks all.

That's a really solid item. It's good enough that'd you seriously consider dropping almost 100k on it, but on the other hand, it's a huge chunk of WBL.

A big part is that it's all one item.
