100ft Ceiling, Shadowy Light (not sure if I need it or not, but better safe than sorry),

[roll0] 1 = Day, 2 = Night (it effects me)

theterran
2010-01-26, 01:38 PM
My night/day roll failed :smallsigh:
[roll0]

theterran
2010-01-26, 01:45 PM

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 02:15 PM
Actions (OO):Cast Superior Invisibility from scroll. Fly to B-15. Activate Stoneskin effect from Heart of Earth. Cast Greater Mirror Image for [roll0] images.

Done.

Edit, OO:My buff list fails to reflect a daily casting of Adept Spirit for another +1 CL. It's prepared for each of those rounds though, I just forgot to mention it.

theterran
2010-01-26, 02:23 PM
Actions:
Swift Action: Spellcaster's Bane
Standard Action: Cast True Seeing from Scroll.
Move to G6.

You're go.

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 02:28 PM
I fly to B-5. LoS resolved via IM.

I cast a spell at you.

Spellcraft for:Spell Theft.

Can I get a list of your buffs?

theterran
2010-01-26, 02:30 PM
[roll0]

Oh, and Immediate Action: Wings of Cover...hopefully blocks LoE...:smallsigh:

(edit)

And if it doesn't...what good is Wings of Cover?

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 02:46 PM
It does. Turn complete.

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 02:57 PM
OO:I keep forgetting to do this.

Oracle readied action:Greater Dispel Magic if he takes any hostile actions.

theterran
2010-01-26, 04:39 PM
I'll get my next turn up when I can. :smallconfused:

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 05:05 PM
Argh, I just realized I forgot one of my all day buffs. Can I add it in retroactively at this point? I have it prepared, I just forgot to cast it.

Edit: Also, which knowledge skill would apply to identifying your character?

theterran
2010-01-26, 05:33 PM
Sure, go ahead,
and
Probably Arcane

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 05:40 PM
OO:Kn. Arcana:[roll0] for knowledge devotion.

theterran
2010-01-26, 06:07 PM
Alright
Actions:
Activate Beads

Move to J2.

You're up.

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 06:16 PM
OO:Draw scroll of Invisible Solid Fog, cast it centered on G-3/H-4.

5-ft step to B-4, Abrupt Jaunt to B-2.

Solid Fog fills a 20ft spread centered on G-3/H-4. It would invisible, except that you can see it with your True Seeing, so it blocks your LoS.

theterran
2010-01-26, 06:21 PM
I've got Spellcaster's Bane up, so what is it, and what level is it?:smallwink:

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 06:28 PM
Invisible Solid Fog, 4th level spell.

theterran
2010-01-26, 06:47 PM
As an immediate action, I'll counterspell the fog.

OO
Lose a 4th level spell slot to do it, assuming that's how Innate Counterspell works

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 06:50 PM
Er, you couldn't see me cast it, as I'm behind a pillar to you. You also couldn't hear it, as I currently give off no sound. How did you know I cast it to counterspell?

Spellcaster's Bane requires LoS if memory serves.

theterran
2010-01-26, 06:58 PM
Er, you couldn't see me cast it, as I'm behind a pillar to you. You also couldn't hear it, as I currently give off no sound. How did you know I cast it to counterspell?

Spellcaster's Bane requires LoS if memory serves.

It does...I thought I still had LoS, just partial cover...:smallconfused:

(edit)

Bah, just forget I said anything, not worth it...

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 07:00 PM
I'm almost certain that you can't draw a line from J-2 to B-5 without hitting a corner of the columns. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 07:11 PM
Assuming whipping out a laser pointer and a straight edge doesn't give different results, my turn's done.

theterran
2010-01-26, 07:21 PM
Assuming whipping out a laser pointer and a straight edge doesn't give different results, my turn's done.

LOL, I'm not that anal about it...we'll just move along assuming I didn't have LoS

theterran
2010-01-26, 09:47 PM
Alright, I hate figuring this out, where are the edges of this fog? :smallconfused:

Tanaric
2010-01-26, 09:56 PM
I believe this is correct, if hastily thrown together.

http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/4566/invisiblesolidfog.jpg

theterran
2010-01-27, 08:40 AM
Alright, I'm not sure if this will work (from a mechanical aspect), but we'll see.

Actions(Open only if you can see through the Invisible Fog and have moved to see my position.):

Move to K2 and out of the fog.
I use a Mystery:
Dancing Shadows
A shadow envelopes me, granting me total concealment.

OO:

Activate Belt of Battle, givine me another Standard Action:

Cast Mystery Dark Air or Water, using the Control Air aspect to create tornado force winds enveloping the entire arena, except for the eye, which is in K2/L3. It rotates clockwise.

Assuming everything I did was legal...:smallconfused:

Great winds (tornado force) begin whipping about, swirling in a clockwise fashion, blowing away the fog (I would assume).

And you need to make a Fort Save. (Again, assuming everything is on the up and up)

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 12:33 PM
...interesting.

Fort: [roll0]

theterran
2010-01-27, 12:40 PM
You're hoisted into the air for [roll0] rounds...

each round you're dealt 6d6 damage as per Tornado (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/weather.htm#tornadoWind)

theterran
2010-01-27, 12:45 PM
Doh, forgot...

[roll0] - There's your round 1 damage...

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 12:46 PM
In that case, make three will saves, since the tornado is the result of an "attack, spell, or other effect", correct?

Also, are you unaffected entirely, or is there a calm section of this tornado?

Is there a method of regaining stability?

Can the tornado be dispelled?

theterran
2010-01-27, 12:55 PM
:smalleek:

Lots o' Questions...It's basically "control Winds" So I would say probably not on the dispel, since it's actual wind, I'm just controlling it.

There is a calm, though I'm not sure you have LoS to it, as I don't know where you are. :smallwink:

As for regaining stability, Control Winds (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/controlwinds.htm) states you get a Fort Save at the beginning of each of my turns to negate the effects of the wind...how that ties in to being sucked up into the vortex of the tornado though, I haven't a clue...

[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 12:59 PM
You're exhausted for two rounds, and fatigued for three rounds.

Does having a flight speed change anything in regards to regaining stability?

You can't see me currently, but I'll tell you that I'm in B-2. Can I see the calm area?

theterran
2010-01-27, 01:03 PM
It's calm in K2-L2, and the fog is gone now (I believe), so why can't I see you? (Note: I can see through my total concealment, and if you have True Seeing, so can you.) :smallwink:

And concerning flight speed...I would think that it doesn't, as wind can batter you about just like anything else... but then you don't have to worry about falling damage

(edit)
Again though, I'm just making assumptions based on what's written (and the lack there of)...I could be totally off-base.

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 01:09 PM
...ah, right. Tornado force wind + fog = not good. Right, so you can see me.

In that case, I automatically succeed on the fortitude save to ignore the wind for this round, then cast a spell (automatically succeeding on the violent motion concentration check, if necessary), which you can spellcraft for
Enlarge Weapon

My morningstar becomes even bigger. Two of the gems whirling around my head release pure white arcs toward me, then fall to the ground.

I then fly to K-2 +5, assuming the clear area is there as well.

OO:Activate Surge of Fortune to pass the fort save automatically. Activate two of the Warding Gems.

Oracle readied action:Attack if he does anything.

theterran
2010-01-27, 01:10 PM
:smallconfused:

How'd you auto-pass the Fort save? you already missed it...you don't get another until my turn...if I'm reading Control winds right...:smallconfused:

(edit)
Sorry for being such a pain, this is why I have exhibition matches like this...to get all this kinda junk worked out :smallsigh:

(edit2)
And with all the noise being made, do we incur the 20% spell casting failure for being "deaf"? (again, I don't know, hence why I ask)

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 01:28 PM
In that case, I delay until after your turn. Mind the exhaustion.

Deafened is a specific condition, and although tornado force winds make listen checks automatically fail, they do not deafen you.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:00 PM
:smallannoyed:

If I'm exhausted, what would happen if I got hit with Exhaustion again? anything?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:05 PM
You'd get the new exhaustion duration, if it's longer.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:22 PM
Alright,

Casting a Spell. (Spellcraft DC20)
Reciprocal Gyre

How many spells / spell-like abilities to you currently have effecting you?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:24 PM
24.

I auto pass that spellcraft.

Will: [roll0]

Fort: [roll1]

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:27 PM
[roll0] You passed the will...so half...

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:29 PM
I'm dead.

...and then not.

Is your turn done?

Edit: Three will saves, please.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:30 PM

Not sure I like where this is going...but yes...I'm done.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:31 PM
[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]

:smallsigh: Here's to three good rolls!
(edit) or three bad one...:smallsigh::smallsigh:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:32 PM
You're stunned for one round, exhausted for two, and fatigued for three.

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:35 PM
If you were holding anything, you've dropped it. Keep that in mind.

I was supposed to make a check against the wind on your turn, I think, so I'll do the same as before, auto passing the fort save.

I then fly to the calm area and attempt to bash your head in.

[roll0] vs touch, for [roll]6d6+14[roll] damage.

OO:Oracle readied action: Attack if he does anything.

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:36 PM
[roll0] for the damage.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:37 PM
Alright, I'm stunned this round, so it's back around to you...at which point you bash my head in. :smallsigh:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:39 PM
Have a full attack.

[roll0] vs touch for [roll1]
[roll2] vs touch for [roll3]

OO:Oracle readied action: Bands of Steel if he does anything.

Edit: Are you going to WoC that first attack, or should I bother rolling a crit confirm?

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:40 PM
Yeah...I'm dead...how'd you come back to life, a contingent spell or something? :smallconfused:

(edit)
I'm stunned for 1 round...this being the round, right? or is it just my turn?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:41 PM
The stunning ended at the end of your last turn.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:42 PM
hrm...I WoC the first...

just to die to the 2nd...

So...note to self...don't let Tanaric have All Day Buffs...

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:45 PM
Nice Match though...gave me an insight into my guy...somewhat...

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:45 PM
Now that's just cruel. :smalltongue:

And for the record, that was Death Pact that brought me back. I also have a contingent rez, so you actually have to kill me three times.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:47 PM
Now that's just cruel. :smalltongue:

And for the record, that was Death Pact that brought me back. I also have a contingent rez, so you actually have to kill me three times.

I'd have had to kill you 3 times, and I'm the cruel one? :smalltongue:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:48 PM
Denying all day buffs to somebody who uses three days of buffing? Yes, that's cruel and unusual. :smallwink:

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:50 PM
:smalleek:

3 days of buffing!?!?!

So that's how you had 24 buffs!

Perhaps I should look into HiPS...:smallannoyed:

(edit)

What tier is that guy anyway?

(edit2)

and what book is death pact in?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 02:52 PM
I'd put this at tier 2 on the ToS tier list. I have pretty good defenses (note to self: remember forceward and look into blocking RG) and a lot of attack options if "smash face repeatedly" doesn't work.

Death Pact is in the Spell Compendium.

theterran
2010-01-27, 02:56 PM
well...he's a beast...that's for certain...:smalleek:

And really, tier 2? so my guy must be a 2.5-3 then...good to know...:smallconfused:

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:01 PM
Subsequently, what would you do if someone aimed a Spell theft or Dispel magic your way?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:02 PM
Laugh and use my rings of counterspells.

Or, failing that, use my nigh-constant Eyes of the Oracle readied action to counterspell it.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:14 PM
eyes of the oracle? what might that be?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:18 PM
It's a Dragon Magic spell. In addition to giving me a minor boost to AC and reflex saves, it also lets me ready one additional action at the end of every turn. This is usually "Counterspell", because losing buffs is never fun.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:23 PM
*goes to look it up*

...

...

Wow, I've never noticed that spell before :smalleek:

Yet another new toy to play with...once you take a readied action, it's done though...hrmm...

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:32 PM
Can I assume this was your Ur-Priest?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:33 PM
Actually, no, it wasn't. Ur-Priest wasn't giving me enough spells to make it worth the cost.

*observes shocked looks on lurkers*

Yes, that's right, I just turned down Ur-Priest shenanigans. I'm a bad, bad boy.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:41 PM
:smallconfused:

So just a cleric / something then...

Also, how were your attacks all touch based? :smallconfused:

(edit) if you'd rather not say out in the open, we can take it to PM, or you can ignore the questions altogether if you don't wanna share :smallwink:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:41 PM
Wraithstrike is eligible for Persistent Spell.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:44 PM
So you were actually using Persist, and not just DMM(Persist)...

Or were you pulling off some kind of odd-ball stuff to get Wraithstrike as Divine?

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:45 PM
I didn't even cast it myself. I used a scroll.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:46 PM
I didn't even cast it myself. I used a scroll.

:smallconfused:

Did the scroll have persist included? or did you add it after the fact?

:smallconfused:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 03:51 PM
It was a scroll of Persistent Wraithstrike.

theterran
2010-01-27, 03:59 PM
It was a scroll of Persistent Wraithstrike.

I was not aware that you could even buy such a thing! :smalleek:

Tanaric
2010-01-27, 04:00 PM
You can. The ToS rules might be updated to exclude it due to shenanigans, but for now it's perfectly legal. You have to buy it at the normal level, without metamagic reducers.

theterran
2010-01-27, 04:05 PM
Figures, I just start learning about this stuff...and they go and try to ban it in ToS...

How am I going to learn how to optimize well if they go and ban all of the good stuff? :smallsigh:

:smallwink:
