Siege of Avalon. A computer adventure-RPG developed by a company named Digital Tome. Rather buggy, but rather fun none the less. I've begun a live-commentated video Let's Play of it. Enjoy.

Some information on the last boss:
You don't get to keep your allies for the final boss, so it can be a bit tricky.

For mages, the strategy is obvious. Throw up your protection spells, starting with deflect. Then cast Mirror Image and smack Mithras down with the Great Hand spell.

Scouts also have it fairly easy. By casting shadow, you have a brief window where you are able to snipe Mithras and kill him instantly. Use deflect for safety.

Warriors have it the hardest. Use deflect and other buffs to protect yourself. Cast Mirror Image if you've got it, and just go to town. Hopefully, you'll wear him out and finish him off before he does the same to you.

I'm sorry about the volume, they were recorded vary late. I'll turn up the capture volume for future videos.

The audio seems good now (havent watched them all yet), but i can't help but notice some audio-desync. You may want to make sure that the audio and video track have the same length.

(Btw, your voice would make for a good Trespasser style LP. Overall you sound very "informative" typish, not "funny" typish, if that makes sense. :smallsmile: )

Yeah, there's desync. I think the problem lies in that I'm running Vista (64-bit) as a virtual machine, which is also on Vista. So, I'm having to run vista twice, plus the game, plus the capture software. The thread priority of the cap software is high, but still...

I've looked into editing the videos and should be able to fix it from now on. I could re-upload everything but, eh...

And yeah, I'm definitely trying to do a mechanical LP. There's a lot of information thrown at you in very large dialogues, so its a lot to go through. I'm not sure what you mean by Trespasser though.

Yeah, grabbed VD to fix everything. Its a shame youtube doesn't let you upload adjusted audio.

Yeah, there's a problem with the Virtual Machine sound system and Vista. Losing the music kind of sucks but I haven't been able to get it working. The computer has a large amount of RAM, though, and XP 64-bit sucks and I'm too lazy to dual-boot. Heh.

Hum... well, if youtube doesn't let you you could try viddler instead. 500mb upload but no time limit and advanced comment features. It's what i use for the DraSa LP. :smallsmile:

(I didn't quite catch why you can't record on native Vista. Is it the 64bit part? And Compatibility modes wont work?)

Its not that I can't record, its that the Virtual Box sound system doesn't work properly on Vista (there's no sound coming from the game).

Got up to part 10 so far ...and i have to admit, it's difficult to keep my attention on it. :smallfrown:

Somehow there's a "hook" missing. Something that keeps one watching. Something either informative or funny or thrilling or something. The type of game seems to make that difficult in general. It's a Diablo-style game and probably quite fun to play, but watching is a different matter. So seeing you blasting, hacking and slashing through enemies in the same manner is ...tiring.
Im not sure how you could improve given the material, though. Maybe you have an idea? I would like to see this continued in a more entertaining way. :/

I'm afraid I don't, really. I guess its no surprise that nobody has done it before now. The pace of the game does pick up, at least. Once you hit the second chapter you tend to fly through the enemies much quicker. I'm glad mage was picked since its much faster and easier than the other classes, though the warrior would showcase stuff a bit better.

Either way, I'm doing it as much for my own satisfaction as for people to watch it, so I'll continue working through it and uploading all the videos as well as updating this thread. I could try to cut some stuff out, but really? Its all unique material. There's no randomly generated anything.

The material is a bit dull, yes. I might have to cut some of the really boring crap from the later chapters. I could try to do a voice chat thing with more people, but there's just so many videos to do, I don't think I could find anyone willing to put up with it for that long.

I'll stay the course until hit with inspiration.
