I could have sworn that there was a variant, feat, domain ability, class ability, or SOMETHING that let you turn evil outsiders.... but I can't find it.

does anyone know where it is?

I think this (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/classFeatureVariants.htm#turningUndeadVariantPlana rBanishment) is what you're looking for.

UNEARTHED ARCANA!! THANK YOU!!!

So if i wanted to turn undead AND banish outsiders as a cleric..... what would my build be? would i need to get a prestige class that grants the original turn undead as a class feature?

Don't forget the spell Turn Anathema on page 129 or Complete Champion.

There's a couple of PrCs that grant Turn Outsider. Off-hand, Apostle of Peace (Game Breaker), or that Silver Flame Prc in both Faiths of Eberron and the ECS itself. As for gaining Turn Undead back, Sacred Exorcist.

Note: There's a way to Rebuke Dragons. Explicitly awesome, but impractical.

And hey OP if your thinking about paladins, there is a variant paladin that does exactly this. I think its actually kinda cool (for a paladin, that is)

Purifier of the Hallowed Doctrine (a PrC in Heroes of Horror) can turn tainted creatures, which includes all evil outsiders AND undead as well as some others. You need normal Turn Undead to get in, though, as well as being either good or True Neutral.

Is there one that can turn aberrations

Yes, Lords of Madness has a PrC for that.

With Abberations, here's the only rule:

When in doubt, Lords of Madness

Maybe I should crack open LoM. I'm about to run a campaign where almost every encounter is an aberration.

Gatekeeper Mystagogue (sp?) from Eberron lets Druids repel aberrations as well.

Is there a Turn Bears ability somewhere? :smalltongue: (damn bear threads! NO! I won't say I can't bear them!... Dammit!)

How about turning humans? (Or elves, or...?)

Close enough (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/antipathy.htm)

Edit for bears

Lords of Madness is indeed an awesome book.

Back in the days of 1E, you could turn just about anything based on alignment. Thankfully, that was discarded, as it was super-retarded.

Initiate of Nature lets you turn animals, from PGtF.
