She shakes her head. No matter what you've done, it won't be enough. As you end your turn, I activate Icarus Attack. Harpie Lady, show her your full strength. The harpie lashes forward with her claws, shattering both facedowns.

I summon Hunter Owl, and now, I attack. Hunter Owl destroys your last token, clearing a path for Raiza to end this match. Know, now, that ill-gotten power will always fail to come through in the end. The owl slashes through the blue flames as, following up on its tail, the Storm Monarch smashes through Anastasia with a solid blow. As she falls backwards, the Storm Monarch continues, bouyed by the wings of Aello's harpies, drawing the power of the entire duel into itself. It strikes into the symbol of the Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu, which shatters under the blow in a brilliant explosion of light. It's over. She closes her eyes, the excitement of the duel vanishing with the field, as her duel disc retracts. Anastasia, she murmurs to herself, for what little it's worth, part of me is sorry it had to come to this, but too many died for your pursuit of power.

Anastasia is knocked down by the attack of the Storm Monarch. As the monsters fade, she looks up to the sky, her vision fading.
I have failed you... forgive me...
A gust of wind carries her limp body into the air. With her last vestige of strength, she cries out to Aello below: Find the other signs.
And then she disappears, along with the Hummingbird geoglyph. The wind dies down, and all is still again in the forest, which still bears the weight of Aslla Piscu's blight.

A few seconds later some screaming is heard.

*Crash*

It seems to be coming from the trees above. -Aaaaaaaah!

*Woosh*

An old man lands on the ground near Aello.

Gah, what the... He looks around, having been hurled to the ground from the mark above. Did I- Was I just-... He seems confused. He has a rusty dueldisk on his arm, and there are scattered facedown cards around him.

One in particular is face-up. Destiny Hero - Tenacious. Attached is a note.


To stop the Jibakushin you must be Tenacious. Find the mark of the Giant, where the evil originated. You do not have much time, the Giant has already appeared. And I fear that he may appear once more.

[Mistral]

As Anastasia vanishes, her parting cry reaches Aello's ears. The others...then, she wasn't alone. Her thoughts are interrupted by a sudden flumph before her. She looks down at the strange sight that has landed before her, momentarily entirely unguarded. She quickly schools her expression into one of cold impassivity. "And who are you? Another of Ana...that person's victims?" After a moment, she relents slightly, offering her hand to help the person back to his feet.

[Shades of Gray]

In my day the villains only wanted to resurrect their dead wives... He grumbles.

The man grabs her hand and stands up, an audible crack coming form his back. He seems to be slouching a lot.

"Well I lost to her, I wouldn't actually call it victimization. Just a lot of floating..." He stands up straight, with another crack. "Thanks, by the way." He says with a smile. "I'm gettin' too old for this."

[Mistral]

"Perhaps you'd best leave this to me, then. There are more of these Earthbound signs out here than the one that defeated you, and I will destroy every last one of them." She kneels down, helping him pick up the scattered cards, glancing at a couple before she hands them over. She pauses briefly when she sees Destiny Hero - Captain Tenacious, before passing it along along with the folded note. "A Destiny Hero in an Ancient Gears deck? I won't question your taste, but this one won't work at all without more D.Heros."

[Shades of Gray]

"Hey, speak for yourself young lady. That's not one of my cards." He reaches into one of his pockets to reveal a similar card and note. "I found one too when I beat the Condor." He says, handing the card and note back to her.

"And whoever is writing these is telling both of us to destroy the other signs. And I'll tell you, I'm not just going to let you take them all on while all this destruction is going on. My son's out there, and I don't intend to let him get swallowed down by some sort of weird lizard or monkey or whatever's next." Once he has his entire deck together he places it in his rusty old duel-disk. "Thanks for your help, but if you don't mind, I'll head on to the next Sign whether you come with me or not." He says as he starts walking toward the next sign in the sky.

[Mistral]

"I see." She opened the note, reading it quickly. Pocketing it along with the Destiny Hero card, she walked alongside him. "I can't exactly leave them alone, either. It's a matter of honor, and because..." Her lips curved into a faint smile. "Someone I once looked up to asked me to."
