You've just woken up, having spent your first night back in Chabaron doing whatever it is that you would spend a night in a largeish city after being out in the wilderness for awhile.

As you wipe the sleep from your eyes and begin going about your morning activities you hear a horn blowing, then a short pause and another horn blast echoes across the city. People begin moving towards the docks at a crisp pace, though whether they're moving towards or away from whatever the horn heralded you can't quite tell.

yeah, it's a little shorter than I intended, sorry. The snow is coming down pretty hard and I've gotta get some **** done before the roads get completely ****ed.

Anyway, for you preparation spellcasters assume you didn't cast any spells yesterday and so have a full complement now.

Azander walks outside, and attempts to stop the nearest person and ask where they are headed.

(He does not have active his cold damage aura.)

Tranar, unworried about the horn, begins to commune with the spirits, as he does every morning, even when he has all of his spells available. He uses Speak with Dead and his ability to empathize with the spirits to learn of the goings on.

Asking local spirits rather than local living people, though.

Wow, the spirits don't like me today.

Aleor does a few quick calisthenics as part of his morning routine before he realizes that the horns are blowing, and that he hadn't heard them yesterday. He heads out side, greeting Azander when he sees him, and attempts to ask a passerby what's going on.

Tharivol

With little need for sleep Tharivol is in the stables of the inn in which he is staying when the horns sound. A beautiful unicorn stands proudly before him, its mane having just been brushed and its back fitted with an exotic saddle. He whispers to it in sylvan before lifting himself into the saddle. The two leave the stable at a good pace, the rider calling out for people to move when necessary.

Azander and Aleor:

Everyone you try to stop politely but insistently continues moving, mumbling something about not wanting to be late.

Tranar:

The spirits must have woken up on the wrong side of the grave this morning or something, they pretty much ignore your question.

Tharivol:

As you ride out out you see all the locals moving toward the docks (where I assume you're riding since you failed to specify). They move out of the way of your horse with a spear on its head when necessary as you make your way to the head of the pack.

Tranar nia Gorthrim
Troubled by the spirits' lack of communication, Tranar steps outside to investigate things the old-fashioned way.

[roll0]

And for once, Tranar does much better with the living than the dead.

Also, at this point I assume we don't know each other and are going to run into each other at whatever's going on. Is that the case, or are we supposed to have already been a group for reasons we haven't managed to determine?

Azander politely but insistently traps one (or more) of them inside a wall of ice with him.

"Where exactly are you going and why are you headed there?"

Stands nearbish to one or two people so that he is inside the radius, then uses Ice wall: hemisphere version. Radius is 13ft, so potentially could be multiple people inside with him. DC 22 Reflex save to escape the hemisphere.

He continues on, moving with and through the herd, following wherever the crowd is taking him.

Tranar:
Your excellent fact finding skills reveal that everyone is heading for the docks to receive an incoming ship that may or may not be carrying some items of significant magic power to help with the escalating conflict.

Azander:
They're not packed in like sheep, but we'll say you manage to trap two people in with you.

As the dome of ice springs into existence the two people just stare at you for a second before one rolls her eyes as if to say Sigh, another damn adventurer. Before answering your question.

"We're on the way to the docks to unload a ship." She says, obviously annoyed at being put upon like this. "Now can you please take down this ice dome so I can get to work?"

Tharivol:
You continue to move toward the docks, and people continue to give your horse with a spear on its head a wide berth.

Tranar nia Gorthrim
Tranar is only vaguely interested, but there doesn't seem like much other to do than to go with everyone to see the thing.

His mind is mostly elsewhere, however, as he is still trying to determine why the spirits were so unhelpful, trying to determine if there is something about this boat that they don't like.

Azander will teleport to the docks, leaving the ice wall.

And Azander will see?

Aleor will head to the docks then to see what all the fuss is about.
