I was wondering if this build can even be any good at all?

Ranger 3/ Wizard 5/ Swiftblade 10/ Horizan Walker 6

I know it goes above 20th level and all but with this combo i was thinking dimension door from horizan walker and the ability to use haste to amazing effects. Is this combo even in consideration for tier 1.5 or 2 rating?

Why bother using horizon walker for dimension door when you have wizard casting?

Also, the tier system gets really wonky (ie, non-existent) as soon as Epic Spellcasting makes its appearance.

Just wanted to see if it worked or not. It does as far as paper but in actual play I am not so sure. Just a fun experiment.

Far from it. Seems more tier3-4. Swiftblade is good, but the rest of the class combinations don't really do anything to take advantage of its benefits.

The build is all over the place. You have the ranger, a tracking combat artist with small divine spellcasting abilities (not acquired at level 3), the wizard, a super class with arcane casting, the swiftblade, a class based on speed and haste, and the horizon walker, a class based on locations...your BAB and casting would be all over too, with the vast spread of classes.

Best thing to do with a build involving wizard is maximize wizard levels or minimize them for utility effects useful in conjunction with other class features.

That said, if you're a smart player, you could get by with this. :smallcool:

Hmm, what are you attempting here? Is there a reason for Ranger, beyond getting Endurance for "free"? Is wizard preferred over, say, bard or cleric with Haste-as-domain-spell?

I would think that a Bard/Swiftblade/Horizon Walker using bardic music feats to enchance melee combat utility would be closer to what you're attempting. Wizard/Swiftblade/Abjurant Champion or Duskblade/Swiftblade might be even more so.

I was just trying something new. the only reason for Ranger is +3 BAB and good reflex saves with endurance feat. I would probably do the ACF to make it a little more potent though. That and horizon walker I thought would be cool too. Like I said just an exercise to get me understand how to optimize really well with out cheese.

If you want Haste quickly (pardon), there's a PrC in Dungeonscape that gets it as a 1st level arcane spell.

The idea was to spam Dimension door while having the benefits of Swiftblade while under haste. you know basically teleport then move really fast.

you can also ditch your familiar for abrupt jaunt (teleport 10 ft Int bonus times per day)

It's always useful for a gish

Except dimension door effectively ends your turn.

Is there any reason why you'd want a high level build with low level wizard casting when you could just buy the say on items for cheap? Try boots of speed for haste. Dimension door both takes a turn and ends your turn. But if you really want it try horizon walker or an item or etc.

Wizard dips are pretty much 1 level so you can use scrolls and wands or enough levels to get a gish PrC. Otherwise try magic items.
