Alright, so I like the Leadership feat, but as both a DM and a player, what are effective ways to incorporate into a campaign without breaking the campaign or centering the campaign around the feat?

Sure, take a bunch of Experts/Warriors and have them run a keep for you somewhere. Then you can have them shop.make supplies, and do research runs.

Dragon Shaman cohort won't break anything, but will make the rest of the party pretty happy.

Have the DM create your Cohort and followers.

In the game I'm running now, when/if my players take the Leadership Feat, I'm creating their cohorts and followers and letting them run them in combat.

The player should have at least some input as to what classes of followers he wants. Because, in the game world, it's assumed he auditions them before allowing them to tag along. "You're a Sorcerer? And the best spell you can cast is Color Spray? Sorry, kid, I want someone who's good with a blade. Talk to me again once you learned some new spells."
