I have heard many mentions on these boards of the insane spell dc's that gnome illusionists can put out. could the playground please give me a list of all of these feats, etc and where to find them?

I hadn't heard of those.

More to the point is the infamous "Miracle from a 0th level slot" shenanigans from Shadowcraft Mage.

This is the same; thanks to Earth Spell and Heighten Spell and such, they can actually exceed level 9 DCs. The bigger "abuse" is how Earth Spell skyrockets their Caster Level. You gain something like +9 CL on all your spells though this means. Which makes Echoing Spell [SoX] pretty sick.

Yea, the combination of Earth Spell + Heighten Spell + Shadow Illusion (ScM3 ability, Races of Stone) really only gives you a DC 1 higher than a normal spell. But then you tack on Gnome +1 DC and GSF, and you are sitting on +4 DCs over the base level. If you also add in something like Metamagic School Focus (allowing you to cast spells 1 level higher than your class would allow), the DC also goes up another 1 accordingly.

So yea, its only 4 above base, or 2 above anyone who would already take GSF (like a Master Specialist), but the really sick boost is the CL boost. I'm playing an 8th level Wiz5/ScM3, and his base CL for 4th level spells is 13 without any other items or feats. This almost caps out any 4th level damage spells, and definitely does more than an empowered version of the same spell, not to mention that its easier to penetrate SR.

EDIT: Also, the Shadow Miracle trick doesn't work. Arcane Disciple adds the spells to YOUR own spell list, and Shadow Illusion explicitly calls out spells on THE Wiz/Sorc spell list. They are not the same, otherwise any wizard without the Arcane Disciple feat, just because some Bob Wizard somewhere took Arcane Disciple once to make it a wizard spell. Nothing that adds spells to your own spell list affects what is written on the Wiz/Sorc spell list as it appears in the PHB and other source books, and I have yet to find a source book that lists Miracle as a Wiz/Sorc spell.

It says they're added to your class list, and you can learn them as normal. So for you, they are sor/wiz spells, which is what Shadowcraft Mage actually says.

Not that I'd use or allow it, and I'd be hesitant about allowing Residual Magic.
