I have never played a spell caster before...the closest thing to a spell caster that i have played...i think would be a druid...

My favorite class? Hmm... Duskblade for sure. Toss a little monk in there (or insert swordsage variant for the lolz)

My Favorite character? Have to be my VoP Monk/Totemist/Apostle of Peace/Comtemplative/Sapphire Heirarche build. Those were fun times.

Disclaimer: I love the Lawful Good alignment (and Exalted). I'm not a hero, I'm THE HERO.

Rogues hands down, followed by Swordsage and finally rangers.

I play the gentleman-bruiser types in all tabletops.

Imagine Teddy Roosevelt with a battleaxe, yelling "Bully!" as he decapitates three goblins in a stroke.

Specialist Wizard. Usually Illusionist or Enchanter. If I can't be a caster, rogue.
Alignment? Anything good.

Druids are FULL Spellcasters and also get actual class features, IMHO Leeky had it right, plus they are the easiest full caster out of the box

I tend to prefer to play support-types. Binders probably don't fit exactly into that role, but they're my favorite. Next up would be batman wizards.

I've really wanted to try a buffer-bard or warblade/bard, but haven't got the chance.

Bard. I make everybody else look good in combat, and out of combat I showboat.

Back in the old times (I'm talking as far as AD&D), my favourite was wizard. It was all about no-limit power.

In 3.5 I loved warlock.

Ok, but the question is for now, as your verb tense implies, so now I play 4e. My favourite is rogue over all. I don't like the excess of "special effects" that every PC has, so now I prefer martial characters.

Rogue is cool, has tons of skills, can be useful in many situations and has a hight combat prowess.

I'm playing a warlord actually, but sooner or later I'll play a half-orc rogue with lots of social skills (maybe more by feats), carrying only red clothes, a rapier, a waterskin (full of red wine) and a smoking pipe.

I prefer clerics and bards. Granted it is what I have mostly played. I enjoy being support. I also tend towards Neutral Good or Lawful Neutral characters.

I play rogues most often. Their high damage output and spectacular skill selection are really what makes the class my favorite. I've played both 3.5 and 4e rogues.

My next favorite would probably have to be sorcerer or wizard or something, but I've only played the 3.5 version of these classes, and I always ran out of spells before I would really have liked to.

I tend to use magic (or psionics) using classes, and I'm generally true neutral too.

Spellcasters!!!

If the campeign starts low and probably ends low i prefer sorcerer over wizard, i may not know many spells, but at least i can cast a lot of them :)

I have to admit that I think Binder from the ToM is one of the most awesomesauce classes of all time, although I play a pretty wide variety of stuff. My favorites are Binder, Sorcerer, and Swordsage, though.

I love role-playing barbarians! Gives me a simple excuse to smash things left and right, even though i always play with an intelligence of at least 12 :smallwink:

I like psions and psychic warriors. I'd like monks a whole lot too, but their list of abilities is set, not something I can design myself. Characters whose strength comes from self-actualization ... I can really get behind that.

Beguiler, Hands down.

Agreed! Although I've found myself enjoying barbarians and artificers lately.

Typically Lawful or Chaotic Neutral.

Expert.
Because being the skill monkey and bringing some buddies (-coughHandleAnimalcough-) to the fight is fun. Especially when I can be as useful as everyone else. With an NPC class that has no class features.
Of course, I don't really brag about any of it ('cept the Handle Animal part, since that's the character's whole point), so not many people have noticed that he's pretty damn good.
EDIT: +14 (+4 Cha, +4 ranks, +2 circumstance (MW item), +4 from feats) on Handle Animal at level 1. I should be able to start training animals soon.
Dire Bear/Wolf paladin mount: Yes/No?

Its because there is very little doubt in what you are supposed to do (despite the confusion on the actual choices D&D players make). In the D&D universe, a paladin's role is already defined.

Even so with the Exalted. They are paladins, plain and simple, by choice, not character class.

Except when your DM is trying to make you fall.
Then, you have to consult your Phylactery of Faithfulness. And it may get to the point where the option closest to Good is to do nothing at all. In that case, your DM should be taking 1d4 bludgeoning damage from books, because unless the setting is specifically one of gray and black, THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE A GOOD OPTION.
I mean, seriously.
</rant>
I also like playing a Paladin, although I tend to stray to "Pragmatically Lawful Good", and focus more on "making the world better" than "EVERYTHING MUST BE GOOD."
My DM has let me use my LE employees (from the previous owner of my kingdom/duchy/whateveradukerules) so far, so it's been nice. And I could go into a fairly detailed explanation of my character's philosophies, but, really, that's completely tangential to the thread.

Wizard or Beguiler + Hax. Favorite character I ever made was a Beguiler/Rainbowservant/Prestige Paladin of the Arcane Order/Tainted Sorcerer/Sacred Fist/Ardent/Subverted Psion with Initiate of Mystra. It was for a very high powered campaign. I was allowed to substitute physical manifestations of taint for mental ones so he was role played as having almost all the power in the universe but getting it had left him so mentally crippled he rarely actually contributed to our combats.... man... fun times.

I've always had a soft spot for the character who gets everything they ever wanted only to either be crippled by it or find it to be more of a burden than a blessing.

Alienist.
Scenario:

Guard: "Oi, wizard, do me a trick!" *scoffing laughter.*
Me: "Alright, watch as I pull a rabbit out of my hat." *pulls rabbit out of hat.*
Everyone starts screaming.
Me: "OH LORDS IN THE HIGHER PLANES, WHAT HAVE I DONE! This is what happens when we play- no I'm kidding I did that on purpose."

I just finished my second short session with a hard boiled Rogue/Barbarian vigilante with a focus on acrobatics and unarmed combat.

It might be because of the RP, it might be because of the freeform-ish approach the game's taken (with the rule of cool dominating rules decisions), but this is the most fun I've had with a character for a while.

It's like playing an angry sort of spiderman in a D&D campaign.

I'm pretty fond of monks and soulknives. I'm toying with a way to combine the two via the hidden talent variant soulknife and the tashalatora feat.

Enchanter, defiantly enchanter. The lack of good enchantment like spells in 4e makes me sad, there are some illusion, but not enough.

Binder. I love the flavor, I love the versatility, I love the ingrained attitudes of the class, and I love tier 3 for my play. Plus it's great to be a decent semi-mystical melee guy.
