Does anyone know of a program/site that let's you randomly populate a shops inventory?

I'd like to give my players things they can choose to purchase instead of having them ask for something and me tell them whether or not the shop has it. I've googled around but found not much. Anyone else have one?

Pendragon breaks inventory down by shop type, and offers price variation between small towns and trading cities.
WFRP divides items into 6 availability classes (from Plentiful - coal at the minehead - to Very Rare - plate armour). They're not D&D, but it's a start.

Beyond that all I can suggest is common sense tempered by the creative chaos of random die rolls.

"Why does the general store of a backwoods market town have half-a-dozen suits of [culturally atypical armour of your choice] anyway?"
