So, after some trolling and bitchin' and snarking and a general hullaboo (:smallconfused: what did I just say?) went down in this thread, (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142546) irony was discussed briefly. In case you don't want to read the thread (which i don't blame you for), a Forbidden Topic was brought up, and people proceeded to spend three pages discussing why Roland hadn't locked the thread. Moderating abilities and sexual prowess of this legendary mod were brought into question (not really). Then, Rawhide comes in and locks the thread. No Gunslinging after three pages of rabid playgrounders calling for the ban hammer (bullet?) to be dropped on some random troll.

Anyways its 3 am and I lost focus on why I was posting this. Share some ironic stories or somethin'.

This might help what is and what isn't. The TVTropes page on irony. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Irony)

Well, we won't see them in a few years. Anyone want to go get some popcorn?

Are you saying that wasn't ironic?

And, erm, I don't understand your second/third sentences.

What? No, no, what you said WAS ironic, but most people seem to get the idea wrong. It was a preemptive strike.

The other ones were a jab at TVTropes itself, and the well accounted for Wiki Walk. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WikiWalk)

Lotsa people think TVTropes is crazy addictive, so sending someone a link will take them out of action for WHOLEMONTHSOMG.

Which only works if it entertains you, which doesn't apply to so much as most of the internet.

You don't have to click the link you know.

It's generally easier to resist the temptation to click the link to the site than it is to get out once you're there. Not easy, but easier.
