Alright, then. This is going to be my first time trying to do things with forum formatting, so...here we go.

Note: This template is made specifically for a campaign I'm running. This template is acquired when exposed to the energies of the Cystal Spire. This is basically a world-killing, huge crystal spike that a plane-crossing empire uses to destroy its enemies.

Creating a Crystalline Creature
“Crystalline Ceature” is an acquired template than can be added to any corporeal creature(hereafter referred to as the base creature) that is NOT an undead, construct or outsider.
Size and Type: Change type to aberration[Earth]. Do not recalculate hit points, attack bonuses, saves, etc.
Speed: Decrease by 10'(minimum 10'). Gain a burrow speed equal to new land speed. If the base creature already has a burrow speed, increase by 10'.
Armor Class: Natural armor bonus increased to +6.
Special Abilities: Gain damage reduction and energy resistance according to the following table. They also gain spell resistance equal to 8+their Hit Dice.
{table=head]Hit Dice|Damage Reduction|Energy Resistance

Should there be a minimum of speed? Perhaps 10 feet minimum. If the creature already has a burrow speed should it gain +10 feet?

True. I forgot about a minimum speed-or existing burrow speeds. Thanks.

You say not to recalculate hp on the type line, then contradict that on the HD line. You need to specify what the energy resistance applies to.

The CR modification probably scales with HD, and I am seeing about a +3 CR at a wild guess for the starting amount...

Be aware that Clerics with the Air or Earth domains may become more powerful in you compaign if this template is very common (even if not in encounters... [Earth] clerics get minions that are easily replaceable.).

You're right-thanks.

No, this template will only show up near the very end of the campaign, as the world-killing starts and the PCs start the world-saving.

Ah, in that case, most creatures powerful enough to matter in a fight will have too many HD for a cleric to command. The exception being ones that rely on class levels, which, by your example creature, might be a lot of them.

Not necessarily. I haven't, at this point, come up with too many details about that part of the campaign yet.
