Simple request. I'm looking for PrC's that grant evasion, preferably by level 2.

Shadowdancer gives it at level 2.

Monk as well, but it isn't a PrC.

Any particular reasons for PrC's? Monk and Rogue both get it at level 2 as Base Classes. Shadowdancer (as pointed out above) gets it. That's all in Core, unless you happen to be an Animal Companion, Familiar, Psicrystal, Special Mount or one of a few creatures with LA:- (which is not the same as LA:+0).

Stupid defective Ninja Ward. Been ninja'd twice in quick succession now.

Shadow Dancer at 3nd?
Divine oracle at 2nd gives evasion, but doesn't call it evasion (can wear any armor).
Initiate of Draconic Mysteries at 1st

Probably other posters will give rest.

Master Thrower grants evasion at 2nd level.

i'd bet the OP wants prestige classes so he doesn't have to take an xp penalty for a dip.

for the OP here are a few i stumbled on: dungeon delver (complete scoundrel, dwarf only, level 4), chameleon's can do it 1/day at level 3 (Races of Destiny, human only, requires able learner feat), Lore Delver (Races of Destiny, Illumian only, level 3).

problem is that most classes that WOULD give evasion (or do in fact give improved evasion) assume that you need rogue levels to qualify and thus already have it.

Oh the "screw interesting characters while leaving blatant violations with no drawbacks above those inherent in multiclassing" rules, otherwise known as Multiclassing Penalties. Fixed, also.

Spelldancer 2 is the usual go-to for spellcasters.

Totemist 2 can do it with a soulmeld. Actually, you can pick up evasion with just two feats: Shape Soulmeld and Open Least Chakra.

The Tools for Fochlucan Lyrist thread (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19872158/Tools_for_Fochlucan_Lyrist_Builds) has a list of all the different ways to pick up evasion, along with some of the more obscure PrCs.

Nitpick: Totemists don't get the Feet Chakra at2nd level, nor the Impulse Boots. Incarnates get the Boots, but the Chakra slot isn't gained until 5th or 6th.

Great Raptor Mask bound to your Totem also grants Evasion. As a bonus, it doesn't fill an item slot.

You can take the Shape Soulmeld (Impulse Boots) feat at 1st level. This grants you Uncanny Dodge. You can then take the Open Least Chakra feat, which will allow you to bind your Impulse Boots soulmeld to your Feet chakra slot, which grants you Evasion. If you happen to have an essentia pool, you can also invest it in the soulmeld to gain an Enhancement bonus to Reflex Saves. Note that binding a soulmeld to a chakra slot prevents you from using a magic item for that slot - thus you can't wear magic boots and have Impulse Boots bound to your Feet chakra at the same time. And Soulmelds are subject to the magic transparency rules, and can thus be dispelled, effected by AMF, etc. Both feats require 13 Constitution, and Open Least Chakra requires a minimum character level of 6th. But 0 points of essentia and 0 levels of Totemist or Incarnate are required.

I'd also add the Dive for Cover feat (Comp Adventurer) to this list as a special mention, as it let's you reroll any Reflex Save in exchange for falling Prone. Although it doesn't prevent all of the damage from area of effect attacks in the way that a high Reflex Save + Evasion does, for most builds it should be sufficient. There's also the Dragon Hunter Defense (Draconomicon) feat which grants Evasion against dragon breath weapons AND 1/2 your character level as a bonus to Saves against their (Su) and (Sp) abilities. Although this may seem like a ripoff compared to Impulse Boots, if you happen to be playing a campaign where the BBEG or one of his primary minions is a dragon or a module like Red Hand of Doom where almost all the big fights are against dragons, it's far superior.

As a side commentary, I would say that Class Levels > Feats > Magic Items. So it's inefficient to spend class levels to get Evasion when you can spend 2 feats to get it (with Uncanny Dodge as a nifty bonus), or spend 25,000 gp to buy a Ring of Evasion (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Ring_of_Evasion). An exception would be if you happen to be playing in a low level game where your DM uses area of effect attacks a lot, or if the Evasion gained from class levels is extra special in some way (for example, the Evasion from Aglarondan Griffonrider applies to you and your Mount).

Master Thrower grants evasion at 2nd level. This PrC is particularly odd, in that if you already have evasion, you gain improved evasion instead. You'd suppose the author of the PrC was thinking of uncanny dodge when this was written, but there we go.

That seems fair though.

It's a little strange, don't you think? If you're a Rogue 2 / Monk 2, for whatever reason, you just have evasion. Likewise, if you go from Rogue into Shadowdancer. In core, it's uncanny dodge that converts to improved uncanny dodge if you gain it twice.
That said, besides Master Thrower, Dungeon Delver also grants improved evasion if you already have evasion. There are probably a couple more PrCs that do the same thing.

Yes, that is true. Waste of a Totem Bind IMO, but gets the job done. The error was Impulse Boots on a 2nd level Totemist for Evasion, since Totemists don't get the Feet chakra till about 5th or 6th and don't get the boots without a feat.
