Heya.

Spending a snow day doing some work on my pantheon, and I'm having a bit of a block trying to think up titles for a Greater Goddess with affinities over the sky, the the moon, the stars, the wind, various aerial creatures, and the night.

I've already come up with a name, so I'm just looking for titles or aliases for flavor in the stat block. Will also accept suggestions for flavor such as symbols or various cleric things like colors/practices/etc, even though I'm not there yet.

I have learned from last time and am adding description/personality in the first post.

The goddess herself prefers to appear as a severe and regal looking woman who looks to be in a well preserved middle age. More handsome than pretty, she has cropped silver hair, her nose is a bit hooked, and her eyes are yellow-orange with white flecks. She wears clothes typically associated with male nobles, mostly in black and white.

In terms of personality she's maternal, although not exactly warm or approachable. I almost want to say she's a crazy cat bird lady, except that she's not very emotional. The only other comparison I can think of right now is Missus Lovett from Sweeney Todd. [The film version, as Angela Lansbury is a LOT more energetic. The sort of creepy, listless mothering that Helena Bonham Carter has isn't very forceful. Not dissing on her performance, for the record. I'm failing so hard at descriptive creativity today, sorry.] She's also very direct and businesslike, doesn't really dither with words.

I'm rambling and it's sort of embarrassing so I'm just going to post now. Will give more information if asked.

As always, suggestions would be helpful and loved to itsybitsy pieces.

I want to suggest a title that incorporates the word "welkin," but nothing comes to mind. (It just means "sky," by the way, but it's a more interesting word.)

I guess I'll just throw the word out there, maybe it will inspire someone else.

Ah, you are all a glorious help.

The only thing I don't have covered now is her relation to the moon.

Sounds a little like Elbereth in the LoTR mythos- sky, stars, etc. Her husband is especially associated with winds and birds.

Some of Elbereth's nicknames might fit, like "Lady of the Stars".

Of course, if you want a slightly more sinister (and famous) name which fits with some of the major features of her portfolio, how about:

"The Queen of Air and Darkness"

Watcher from Above might work. Morningstar is another interesting one to play with.

White Eagle strikes me as appropriate. Sounds maybe a bit too native american. You could of course name her Ayhura (or whatever) and explain that the name comes from ancient [whatever language] and means ... White Eagle.

Alternatively, she could have a number of titles, like: Ayhura, Mother of Storms, Mistress of the Sky, the White Eagle, she to whom the winds bow. And so on.

Maybe we could start with suggestions for symbols, signature metals, colours, creatures, etc?

At the moment, I'd go with:
Signature animals- Owl, possibly Hare.
Signature metal- Silver
Signature colours- Black and white
Associated celestial body- Moon
Time of prayer for clerics- Dusk

Special dates- all moon-based. Full moon, new moon, etc.
