And as our Supreme Leader alluded to, I was killed when elven wizards attacked the tower [...]

Funny thing how they already alternate history. Last time I counted, Vaarsivius is only one elf.

Well, there were the Soul Splices...

Propaganda. Telling the crowd that a single wizard nearly destroyed them all makes them look weak.

History has always been written by the victors.

There are a ton of threads on this topic already. This (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142891) one discusses whether we can trust the crayon stuff to be true at all. It includes the elven wizards thing and the fact that the phylactery is missing from the crayon version of events.

Why would they want to tell everyone they nearly got their butts handed to them by one elf?

:redcloak: "Xykon, the elf is using two Soul Splices! (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0652.html)" It's not unreasonable to assume they were other elves.

Plus, what everyone else said.

I myself found the term "insurgent" to describe O-Chul rather telling...

Your supreme leader, allied with an even more powerful sorcerer, capable of turning the tides of the entire battle on their own...almost defeated by one elf and one naked paladin.

Yeah, they'll damn better use a plural there if they want the gobs not too demoralized.

In issue 702 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0702.html) Redcloak also mentions the "elven insurgents", these coupled with the term "unprovoked terrorist attack". This is textbook propaganda.
Most important, the term terrorist used for an attack to the head of a militar organization who has seized an enemy city is way biased.

I too assume that this is a lie and propaganda. If they knew that their whole leadership almost got derailed by one elf, it could make them worry and remove the good move from the crowd.

As I said in another thread, Xykon though (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0652.html) there were other elves attacking... Red Cloak even sends Jirix to look for other elves (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0655.html) before O-Chul kills him... He's not lying, he simply doesn't know the truth...

Yeah, but that was on the spur of the moment. A month or so later you would think they'd find out if any other frony was attacked.

Why should it have been mentioned? It has no bearing on the point Jirix was making. It was a description of his trip to the afterlife, not the attack by V.

I agree, as I doubt that they know about Team Peregrine yet.
